Hi Kelley, was mainly asking why a place would write down the names of everyone who enters. I asked the hostess but didn't get a straight answer. Just curious . . .

New to the board. I recently visited a local gentleman's club. Great time! I don't venture out much locally due to personal and professional privacy concerns. ID was checked and my name was written down upon entrance. Never had that experience before. Prefer to be anonymous ITC. Is that true in all NC clubs, just Charlotte or just that club? Upscale establishment but feeling a bit reluctant to go back. Should I be concerned that if I hit it off or gain a reputation for being generous, the experience might follow me home, so to speak? Anyone have insider info?

I think it depends on what you want. My Father was always very generous when he went out. I remember the staff always greeted him by his name, took him to his favorite table and within minutes had his favorite drink.

He always told me that TIPS meant: To Insure Proper Service. The way I look at it is ,,,,,,, if you were not to overly generous, yet took care of the staff, were respectful, to a point, and had a good time, then all I have to say is you only live once...........

What am I missing about this question if anything. Kelley

Here's the deal.  The reason there are "private clubs" in NC is due to liquor laws. Essentially, you either need to be a restaurant or a private club to serve liquor (think whiskey, gin, and the like). If you are not a restaurant and you wish to be "open to the public", then you can only serve beer and wine. It's an antiquated system, and in modern times it means that most private clubs require some sort of fee for membership and of course register you as a member so that they are in compliance of the general statute.

If you don't like the idea of passing your info out to get "accepted" go to Hooters instead for cheap thrills. They serve food, alcohol and have bouncy boobs, thus being open to the public
