Although, my favorite exotic destination I've enjoyed is French Polynesia (especially the Island of Moorea). I went by myself in 2001, after ending a long-term relationship, and I truly wish I'd never returned. IMHO, it is heaven on earth!

Here is my suggestion on where to take a tica in Costa Rica, Take her to Manuel Antonio. All the chicas love it there and it is quite beautiful. Or if you don't mind spending the big bucks, you could take her to the Four Seasons Resort in Papagayo. Both are on the Pacific Coast, which is the side you want to go to. The Caribe side is a shit hole with the only actual city being Limon, which is also a shit hole.

The "cheapest" rooms at the Four Seasons were around $500 a night the last time I was there several years ago and they just go over board with the "personal service" You can't even wipe your own ass there without someone there to hand you some more TP and that is just a bit much for me. Manuel Antonio is absolutely gorgeous, there are plenty of beautiful places to stay and several restaurant with great views of the "Pacifico" in a much more relaxed setting at a fraction of what you'd spend in Papagayo.
Don't worry, most chicas will get all wet just thinking about a weekend in Manuel Antonio. There are a lot of ticas who won't even care about getting paid, as long as they like you of course, if you treat them to a weekend down there, and for the price of a hotel room at the Four Seasons you can get a three or four bedroom villa overlooking the ocean in Manuel Antonio.
I had no problem adapting to the city but MA sounds like more of my standard of living haha.

You are correct, I experienced first hand the perks of having a chica like you even a little lol, my overnights felt like highway robbery.
When traveling outside of SJ I usually rent a car, MA is a good $200 cab ride each way, renting a car is much cheaper with the added benefit of having a car at your disposal while you're there. If you are at either the Del Rey or the Sleep Inn, you can have a car arranged for you and it will be delivered right to the hotel.
To anyone else reading this who might be traveling to CR on a "budget" yes there are buses that you could take, but I only mention this as an afterthought as I would never dream of taking a bus NUNCA jaja

There are five different Marriots in CR that I can remember staying at. There is a Courtyard Marriot out by the "aeropuerto" that only charges something like a ten dollar Chica fee. There are two Marriots in Escazu, a Courtyard and a Residence Inn, both of which are rather "chica friendly" with very modest chica fees, but then there are the "resort Marriots" which try to discourage "putas"
Close to the airport is a full serve Marriot which I have stayed at only once, and I stayed there with my "novia" and we checked in together. I don't know what the "chica fee" would hae been if I had brought her in as a hooker, but seventy bucks would not surprise me. The other high end Marriot is Los Suenos, which is also not very "puta friendly" at all, but they will put up with it if you check in together.
