What would you do in such a situation? Doesn't like surprises. If, like you, there was no taste or smell to tip me off during DATY, I would say no harm no foul. Oftentimes, women are more sensitive and responsive while on their periods, resulting in some explosive O's if you know what you're doing. I find it amusing that guys will find DATY while she's menstruating revolting but will go ahead and stick their tongue in her ass for a nice rim job.

I think its best to not work during that time of the month but if she really has to work I think its best to disclose that she's wearing a sponge and it will be up to the hobbyst if he is ok with giving oral anyway, some men don't care.
Happens to me some time. Like out of the blue bam it starts flowing. Then other times I get cramps the night before. But most of the time I know when it's coming. But I don't date during that time I kind of think about it as a p vacation lol
The reality is that MOST of us know when our full-blown 5-7 day cycle is going to start. But some women are more regular than others. So some women always know when it will start and can plan dates accordingly. For some women it will randomly arrive 2-4 days early or 2-4 days late with no explanation. So you actually CAN'T generalise across the board and say that every woman knows when it's coming and should be responsible for telling you in advance. Sometimes she knows and chooses not to disclose, sometimes she honestly has no idea.
Then there is the issue of full-blown period vs. spotting. Sometimes even if it's totally the opposite time of the month from when our cycle is supposed to occur, for whatever reason we experience a small amount of bleeding. This is even more unpredictable and there is no way to tell before it occurs. So even though there may have been zero blood in advance of DATY, after some deep fucking it's easily possible that a small amount of blood that was just chilling out way up by the cervix where we had no idea about it could be dislodged onto a condom, bedsheets, etc. It happens... it's human... it's unpredictable.
I don't know if you guys are familiar with the phenomenon that women often bleed together in alignment with each other's cycles. If you have two women in your household who both bleed, then you probably ARE. It's a fairly common phenomenon. On a personal note, I am HYPERsensitive to other women's cycles. It can easily change my own. Sometimes it's even a woman who I don't know at ALL. Even half an hour or an hour in close proximity to a woman who is bleeding can make me spot, or if I am within less than a week of my period, can make it arrive early. Kind of crazy right? So when I am on tour, if I am meeting up with girlfriends for drinks or dinner, I literally have to ask them first, "you're not on your period, are you?" How insane is that...? But otherwise I have these types of issues so I've learned to do this.

There are always work arounds. 
With the best will in the world we are biological beings not sex robots and as such we can't pinpoint to the day/hour when a period is going to start. I've made tour plans around the time it was due only for it to arrive a week early while I'm on tour. It's annoying and inconvenient and luckily it's never actually arrived during a session with a gent, but that may not be the case for someone else.
I use a sponge. It's comfortable for both me and my clients and doesn't get in the way. Though it's possible to have some spotting between periods and in that case you never know when that will happen.

Sponges are great but make things a little dry down there...I usually have a week long period and get super horny during it so it makes no sense to take that time off. I've only had accidents a few times and usually I'm the only one to notice.
