I was just presented with my 5th in the last two weeks. I have some cigars left over soooooooooooooooo I am going to smoke one for you! Based on my experience, you are going to just love being a Grandpa.

Children are hard but grandchildren are a blessing. My grandparents were the best people I ever knew and I am honored and lucky to have had them. They made me a better person and taught me respect for my elders. I miss them every day. Enjoy your grandkids, spoil them and teach them some of what this world has forgotten. Kids love stories from their grandparents. Grandparents are angels on earth. Good for you, you deserve to be proud!!!
I loved my grandfather so much. He was amazing. He used to take me to work with him and let me hang out in his office. He always told me that he didn't care if I got a degree, or a good job, just as long as I went to college and used my brain. He would quiz me and drill me so much I loved it. I started finishing the New York crossword puzzles as a teen, and I would start devouring books as fast as he could mail them. I remember he would affix this label on the inside of the books, always hardcover, and it would say a gift from him with the date. I miss those. Spoil your grandkids rotten, Harry. They will cherish it.
In the dim and distant past
When life's tempo wasn't so fast,
Grandma used to rock and knit,
Crochet, tat and baby sit.
When the kids were in a jam,
They could always call on Gram.
But today she's in the gym
Exercising to keep slim.
She's checking the web or surfing the net,
Sending some e-mail or placing a bet.
Nothing seems to stop or block her,
Now that Grandma's off her rocker.
