I see a lot of long time regulars, but every so often I seek out someone new who is somewhat different than those whom I've seen before.
Does the hobby lead you in the direction of variety, wanting to experience the heady excitement of a new provider or a new quality you want to experience, like switching from a spinner to a BBW, or going from shaved to hairy? Or do you look to create something steady and see where mystery takes your next appointment with the same provider goes?
This is considering limited funds, of course.
I'd love to enjoy forming multiple encounters with an ATF, while exploring new and different experiences. Can't have it both ways at this point
... find an ATF who's reliable but versatile and imaginative, and who loves exploration. That won't give you variety in body type, but maybe she can postpone shaving for you. 
Yes, it's an idea, but one that leaves out half the question...not really getting both.
Split your budget between an ATF and occasionally seeing new (to you) providers, to get the variety you seek.

I'm not making it difficult. It's just a discussion I brought up and was wondering where others fall on the fence, what might be some deciding factors, etc. I tend to visit different providers. Some here have stated their preferences are fairly narrow, so it's an easier choice. Mine happen to be wide open regarding many factors- age, race, build, mutual activities enjoyed.

I am always happiest with one or two favs whom I see regularly and with whom I have developed certain things we do together and also the ability to experiment a little. Even with this, I also enjoyed the occasional fling with a new person form time to time.
That was some years ago when I have unlimited freedom and unlimited financial resources.
someone who is hairy or a BBW. I'm a gym rat (8-10 hours a week), so I tend to be attracted to women who take good care of themselves, including removal of excess hair. As GaG said recently on another board, I don't want to be coughing up hairballs all week. I know I'm going to get grief for saying this, but IMO, BBW's are providers who have given up on their potential. Just keeping it real.
I see at least one new girl for an hour session once a week. Although last month I saw ten new ones because two of my regulars were on vacation and touring, respectively. I prefer the connection and intimacy you get from a regular once or twice week, but attrition (retirement, touring, vacations, taking me for granted, etc.) opens up the opportunity to replace regulars in the lineup. Keeping up a regular program of seeing new girls means I always have prospects with which to replace regulars when the need or opportunity arises.
You are attracted to who you are attracted to, no matter what you look like. I'm an out of shape old fuck who has never seen the inside of a gym, but I'm not attracted to out of shape old ladies. I'm attracted to young, slender, in shape women.
I see what is possible with the ladies that are also there taking care of themselves, and this is what I want in my providers, although I occasionally date civvie women I first met at the gym, because tight and toned is what I'm attracted to. Sorry you misunderstood my post. Its not about ME being fit and attractive, although some would say I am for an old fuck, but me just being there taking in all of the lovely ladies that are making themselves fit and hot looking. I suppose I would get the same sensory stimulation if I just sat on a bench in the gym eating donuts and watching the ladies, but then, I might have a harder time getting dates there.
that's how I feel about women barely a third my age who have "let themselves go" I think to myself, "At 57 I take pains to be "not repulsive" why can't these young women do the same?"
I agree that even if I were a fat pig, I still wouldn't want to fuck fat women pigs. lol I think CDL was justifying being a shallow pigs, not trying to explain it. lol
But unlike CDL, I am attracted to many shapes. From fitness competitors to BBW.

Have you tried doubles with some of their GFs? You'll still get to see the ones you already adore and get fresh and new, all the the same time. Just a, thought

So you are right. Variety IS built into our DNA but as it turns out according to science, more for women to ensure the survival of the species and our continued presence on Earth.
I most likely bade farewell today to a woman with whom I had a number of great encounters. We became comfortable in our intimacy, without taking the sessions for granted. She's probably a unicorn, but I'd love to meet another who could offer the same level of service. I can't complain about the search, however.

I have two regulars - when I'm in a different city I try others. Hence, my regulars sometimes get replaced.

I do like a little variety, but like PStorm said, only within the type that I'm attracted too, there's nothing like the nervous excitement of seeing someone new. Why not mix it up, even if you can't hobby very often, you can still have variety

there's so much vested, emotionally and physically, when you both want to repeat. My first ATF "charged" me such a pittance, I couldn't say no. I couldn't have seen her 100 times at her regular rate, but SHE came up with "the idea", we couldn't get enough of each other.

For me, hobbying is like fine dining. Sometime I want French and sometime Italian. Budget only impacts frequency. But not variety.
Few fucked me like she, but there were times I wanted something different. That's the beauty of the hobby. Always someone to satisfy your dining interests!
Don't hesitate cutting back with your ATF if you wanna expand your fine dining options. I think you'll find you'll enjoy her even more ... or you'll find someone who expands your horizons. And that's OK too.
As always, be curious, but not to the point of paralysis by analysis.

I would say, take a break from your ATF, which will give you a reference point to explore other providers. You may come back wanting to stick with your original ATF, or find a new ATF;_)
Because you will get to know them and connect more then first time meeting new providers every time in my opinion, I'd rather meet with a client I've seen before then a new one.
I have a few ATF's. I also have particular types that I look for who are "new".
I balance it out, although it might be awhile in-between encounters with my ATFs.
I learn new ideas from some of the "new" (non ATF) encounters and explore those with my ATFs.
My ATFs also sometimes bring new ideas to our meetings.
I can't recall too many times the experience was overly similar with my ATFs. And yet, because we have seen each other frequently there is more comfort and understanding involved that helps the experience, IMHO
However, knowing that all ladies are going to retire, it's important to throw in some variety to keep the atf list full.
