For me, yes it is a source of support for life necessities but I also keep one foot actively in the real world for multiple reasons, one of which may surprise you and that is keeping perspective. (It is so easy to lose perspective when you live in a controlled, protected bubble that is largely isolated from the real world and its practices. And once you lose perspective, it is too easy to become Marie Antoinette thinking "Let them eat cake!" is a testament of your world savvy and accumulated wisdom).
As far as personal predilections and satisfactions, of the lovely men I have been blessed to enjoy the company and support of, there have only been a handful that make me wish I had been doing, literally, anything else and I will never allow an appointment with again. I am in a place in my life where the quality of my time means more to me than fame, glory or money and I try to reserve that time for people who bring something to it other than my regret, resentment or utter contempt.
Because of that, I try not to be completely dependent on this specifically so I CAN make those choices and not suffer for it. This also means that I don't keep a "normal" boyfriend or lover on the side with romantic dreams of him being my Prince Charming whisking me away into the sunset because he is "special" and therefore, not subject to the same requirements and rules. Everyone has to show investment and commitment to my well being when they are with me or they can keep right on moving along. I like my playmates and intend to keep things on that positive note for as long as I can.
I don't need a boyfriend or a big bag of money. I need a bigger bed, more hours in the day and more genuinely nice guys finding their way to me so I that I keep being reminded that they exist and I do this for all the right reasons, for both of us.

I started my real life biz in 2008 with $40,000 I withdrew from my retirement - it was a HUGE risk that thankfully has paid off.

rior to this beautiful loophole, I was having a very hard time finding ways to live
my most beautiful life. Wasting time with resumes, working my fingers to the bone
