Hey everyone!!

I have no idea why people ask if either party are LE. I mean would the person admit it anyways? Just inquiring. I mean it seems like a common sense question. But is it?😬

whether to give them the police officer discount rate in case they forget to ask.  Same thing with senior citizen discounts.

But if it makes anyone feel better by doing it, so be it

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a public service announcement.
Of course LE would deny he is an officer.
EXAMPLE: Assume John Gotti is still the boss of a certain family.
LE plans a sting operation against John Gotti. An officer/agent meets up with him and a conversation begins.
The officer's intended purpose is to get John Gotti to make incriminating statements in order to gather evidence for a potential
criminal prosecution. (you know the officer says: "Hey John, would you please speak a little louder in my bow tie.") John Gotti, aka the Dapper Don, is aware he may be involved in "some rather bad behavior. John Gotti, thinking he needs to protect himself against a LE trap,  John Gotti then asks the officer, "Are you a cop?

What in the hell do you thing the officer would day?
If cops could not lie in such circumstances, There would never be a successful undercover operation.
I mean no offense here but the answer is intuitively obvious

It's another one of those ridiculous urban legends
People think if the officer denies being the police it will somehow help them when they get busted.
It won't
