Steph xoxoDespite participating on this board and my local board, I have been denied access to the provider board multiple times and told to participate in the boards. I'm confused and I've asked them to reconsider. Help?
I did notice that the requirements listed on the "Providers Only" board are a little fuzzy: "The minimum criteria to be considered for admission to the PO Board is three (3) reviews. TER may consider additional information based on your history before granting access as this is an unmoderated board. ..."
In contrast, the requirements listed on the "Reviewers Only" board are at least more clear and quantitative on the surface: "If you have written at least 10 or more approved reviews and would like to be part of this board, please contact us with your TER username. ..."
My semi-educated guess is that they want to see a longer posting history from you and/or more posts before giving you access to the Providers Only board. For clients, this is easy to gauge quantitatively. If we're on the "My TER" tab, we can hover over the sub-category of "More" and choose "My Board Posts." Once there, you can look at the bottom and see the total number of your board posts. If you go to the last page of your board posts, you can see the first date that you posted. Hopefully you can do something similar in a provider account. Now as far as a qualitative judgment, I have no idea how they would assess a candidate. From the fuzzy criteria listed by TER, it sounds like they retain some discretion to grant access to that board. So you may be at the mercy of an unknown human being's assessment of whether or not you have a long enough history of quality posting to get in.
So your best bet may just be to be patient, keep posting quality posts, and check back later.
Hopefully a vet provider or someone similar can shed more light on this. I would take what I and other clients/reviewers say with a huge heap of salt, because we probably don't know what we're talking about.

Any pointers on getting a ter ID? Or even a review at that. I just joined.. Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated
But it can take time. Once you get a review you will get a TER ID that you can use to link your handle to and get free limited provider VIP. I suggest you read the information in the self help center. The best board to ask these questions is the newbie one.

2. Your history as a member may also be recent - your number is not low.....
If I were in charge of that forum, I would want you around for a year before I put you into a restricted, unmoderated board. Further, I would want to see participation because I would want to know that you could be trusted to express yourself in a reasonable manner - and you can only really get a feel for that over a number of posts.
But obviously that's just me.
My limited experience with the TER mods is that they usually have reasons for what they do - but they may or may not tell you what those reasons are. I have been in limited conflict with them - and only found out later just exactly why. And when I finally figured it out - I did understand why they did what they did. At the time, I was mystified and frustrated about it.
I have no idea what your participation or situation is - but my advice (you did ask for help...) would be to give it six months and apply again. If you have been bugging them repeatedly - then you really may want to give it some time
They want us ladies participating on the boards more. Hang in there ScarlettStClair and post a little more and you will be given access. I went through the same thing.
I got the reviews, was posting every day on the boards but it still wasn't enough. I just gave up. How much more participation would it take? Eh. Good luck with it though. :
They tell you that you need a posting history, but they never say what that entails. (I.e x number of posts or x number of posts on various boards, or x number per month etc.) It's just something they determine individually.
I would say to keep posting here and on your regional and/or other TER boards, don't be a drama queen (as GaG mentioned), don't violate posting rules, and keep asking for admission every few weeks.
I was told you needed at least 5 reviews I think and regular posting on the boards? I know another girl who has lots of reviews but can't access the provider board and I think it's because she only very occasionally posts on the general boards

And post and post. Keep checking back in your board threads/posts, to make sure your messages say "active" and not "not allowed".
It took quite some time for me to get provider access, just keep posting, and keep asking a few times a month. Eventually, the will let you in
