I'm planning a cruise. Does anyone have any experience with hobbying on board with the staff? I've had great massages at the spa, but never quite dared drop a tip for extras. Are extra services ever available, and would you handle it like an AMP or RMP? Do you dare ask the bar tender if he knows about any extra services, perhaps from the gals who make up the cabins?

This is a giant No No for staff. Cruise ships are very small comunities where every one knows every ones buisness among the crew.If word got out about providing onboard the crew member would be put off at the next port and sent home.Find a provider who wants a vacation and ask about discounts for a paid vacation.

He's right, extras from the staff are verboten. However, bringing along a provider for a weeks cruise sounds like a bad idea. Anybody can get on your nerves after eating, sleeping, pooling, sightseeing, etc, together for 24 hours a day for 7 days. Hell, get a room at a nice resort hotel, play golf all day long and get a different provider every nite. I just came back from a cruise and was about ready to kill my SO, even tho I luv her. Good Luck

Besides that would have to be awefully damned expensive......................

Actually there many singles cruises. If YMMV means a good thing to you try one of them. They are usually on a smaller ship. Some are on the Windjammer line. Actual sail driver ships that visit smaller ports.  Are you feeling lucky?  I've gone on a few cruises alone and had a great time.It only takes 2 or 3 to make a great week. Oh by the way , I'm talking "No Fees" here.

Yep...my next venture after the Dirtytalk Salon (my agent is looking for a location, btw).... "LoveBoat" cruises ---

Let us recall that in the days before Native Americans invoked sovereign rights to have gambling on their reservations, and before states got wise to the tax revenues to be had from casinos that there were "gambling" cruises:  Folks would get on the ship; it would sail out beyond the 12-mile limit, and of course, all local laws ceased to be effective, and the casino would open.  That, in turn, led to the fiction in some jurisdictions that casinos have to be floating on water...

Now, take that idea, extend it to the hobby...

Your not gonna find any hobbying on board.  You can most likely hobby while docked, most ports of call have hobbying ladies(can't bring em on board though).

I recently went on a short cruise (3 nights) and was surprised to see how many solo travelers were on board.  Casino dealers were telling me that the short cruises draw about 40-50% single travelers. However, the longer cruises (7+ days) are much lower percentages. As another poster stated, they do have singles orientated cruises. Both of these are crapshoots as to whether you'd get any actions.

Frankly I'd rather enjoy the cruise and hobby while in port.
