Super-Flu Advisory

Yes, it is that time of year again.

I am sure we all know, but I would like to post a friendly little reminder-
If you start feeling poorly, exhibit cold symptoms PLUS fever- more than likely you have the flu!
If you are one of the smarter ones who is patting yourself on the back because you preemptively got a Flu-shot, GOOD FOR YOU! .... However..... the current flu shot that is being given in North Carolina is for the 3 main variations that have been circulating, it does not protect you against the new mutated version, the strain that has the Public School District Board calling parents about.

If you start having symptoms, you need to go to the ER IMMEDIATELY, they can give you Tamiflu the first 48 hours, afterwards, pretty much you will be left sucking it up without anything medication wise (other than OTC.)

I myself was taken out of commission last week, thinking I had a cold, a couple days of fever, then recovery...
It was not to be.
It came back within 24-48 hours with a vengeance.

4-5 days of fever, the next couple days after that.... will leave you running for the bathroom, praying to God in heaven that you can get your pants down in time.... After you recover from that, a couple days of body aches, and sinus draining....
Well, I don't think I need to implore to the crowd anymore, how severe this strain is...

I had to cancel on a couple appointments, but I do not regret it in the least. I would rather live to play another day, then send you fine Gents home carrying a super-bug.

I myself probably won't be any good to anyone for at least a few more days.

Please do be alert about the viruses going down, a friend of mine out of state in the mid-west where they were hit very badly in December, has the same strain going viral, and elderly & children have died.
This strain, H3N2, is no joke.

Take care of yourselves.

Foxy

And Tamiflu isn't helping in a lot of cases because of the different, emerging strains it doesn't help.

We ALL need to be careful. And@Foxy, REST up!!!

Steph xoxo

You should consider.  Go to your doctor or an urgent care facility.  Not the ER unless you want to pay an arm and a leg, potentially be advised to go to an urgent care, and wait for a long time.  Second, the flu does not generally cause gastrointestinal problems like diarrhea. You could possibly have acquired another type of virus or even bacteria. Everyone take care of themselves.

Seriously this is a great topic, Foxy.... We should all be careful and wash our hands constantly!! Please ladies and gents, if you have the smallest sign of sickness then please cancel your appointment!! It is not worth it.. No amount of money is worth is worth spreading this...

Foxy, I am SO very sorry this happened to you girl!!! Hope you get better quick Foxy One...

Foxy, First of all, I hope you are progressing back toward health today:))

Opened Yahoo Main Page and saw another sad story about the Flu that is taking lives this year:((
26 year old newlywed health care worker at a hospital, who had the almost worthless flu vaccine this year, contracted this deadly bug(virus) and died:((

Do all you can to stay safe, and live to hobby again, and that includes taking the flu shot that is reported to be 23% effective. As the Scouts motto notes---Be Prepared!

Then turn into something far more dangerous.

Take your vitamins and drink plenty of fluids. Please listen to your body and see a doctor if you are concerned about any related symptoms that you think are connected to the Flu!!

Knocking on wood that the Flu attack is outta here soon!!

For those that have had this or someone near to them, I am sending well wishes to all

The CVS minute clinic (i think walgreens has one too) was fast n I got Tami flu there. Definitely a lot cheaper. The Tami flu  is expensive but well worth it IMO. Yeah this is no joke. I had it over the holidays n it sucked.  I canceled everything.  I have been washing my hands to death lol n after anyone leaves my in call I wash n lysol EVERYTHING lol including door handles n all. They say once you really start feeling the symptoms that you've already had it for a day or two. That Tami flu really knocked that shit out though.
Great post as everyone should be cautious n avoid playing if you get sick.
Hugs and kisses

Because I remember getting flamed when I took similar precautions during the Ebola scare.  Alot scarier when its at your doorstep and not a mystical thing 'somewhere else'  Unfortunately illnesses are very real and can and will kill you without mercy.  Kudos to you for protecting your clients and yourself.  Be safe out there everyone!

One particular appointment, that I REALLY could have used the income from was an older fellow, and by older I mean, almost 80 years young, I canceled on.
I had discussed canceling with someone (and how much I hated to) and the someone else tried to tell me NOT to cancel out if I needed the money....

All I could think of in the back of my mind, was what if I give this poor older guy the funk and it kills him? I would feel (and rightfully so) that I was responsible. I don't need that kind of bad ju-ju/karma on my head.
Seriously?

I know hookers are supposed to be cold/callous/heart-less etc.... but I can't be anyone other than who I am.
I care and worry by far more than anyone could ever fathom, and hold myself personally accountable for my actions.
I just couldn't do that... ever. Old fellow or not. Matter of fact, I canceled all my appointments.
That's what someone with a conscience SHOULD do....

And besides that, being sick, just ain't sexy!!!
I have a reputation to uphold ya know!!
:-P ;)

This is all true, but even providers are human beings.  Doing something that can really hurt someone you shouldnt ever do regardless of your profession.  Save military and LE of course.  I think that cancelling was the absolute right thing to do, and on a personal note I would lose alot of respect for someone who would do that when they're ill.  And like you said whats sexy about being sick?  Even I dont want to get down when Im feeling like crap.  Not sexy at all.  IMHO your reputation is well intact!  :-)

Foxy, that is the fine lady that you are and I hope you will continue to be.

Canceling was the best for all parties and I think the fellow will and does understand. Yes, you are a provider but more than that you are a caring woman and that is what makes you an excellent provider and woman, someone's ATF.

Never stray, continue being the best at what you do.

Much, much, much better! Although I am not 100%, I would say about 80-90% better.

I still feel weak as water, and I have dropped about 10-15lbs (oh mercy! That's not exactly how I intended to slim down, but a good jump start on loosing the pooch... LOL!)
Try to see the silver lining in everything, I say.

The sun is shining, it's a beautiful day, and I had a nice reminder not to take good health for granted!
I'm piddling around the house picking up everything I left around while I was sick.
I'm just glad to be feeling like my Foxy self!

Thankyou all for all the warm wishes :)
It's always nice to have some positive energy sent your way!

Take care of yourselves out there!

Foxy

So many idiots worried about something that effected maybe a handful of people, and I think killed 2 in this country.

Gotta love Fox News

I had a client he sounded very ill on the phone thanks to this post I ask him sweetie r u sick he said no is just a little bug he could not even get words out without  sneezing or blowin his noose to I had to cancel the appointment ..... I know is very cold outside but ladies keep your room chilly it keeps the virus away and that hand sanitizer y'all be safe lovely ladies

on the fact that a chilly room keeps the virus away. That is completely not true.  If you body has to spend energy to keep warm is lowers your immune systems ability to ward off infection.  Temperature has nothing to do with it.  And hand sanitizer does help but realize is is only effective on about 80% of germs and bacteria.

That's a relief because I could never remember if it's feed a cold, starve a fever or the other way around anyway ...

Hello Everyone,
This is a little secret I have learned in my many years of getting sick. There is this little known vitamin/super fantastic little pills that I use when i start feeling ill. When you start feeling in your body is either Super Acidic or Super Alkaline. Either way, that is when your body is most likely to be sick. If you take L-Lysine (2000 mcg/3x a day is what i take) when you start feeling sick you are putting your body back to being in alignment and have a less chance of being sick.  I am not saying that you won't get sick, but you are more likely to get better quicker than what you would normally feel like.  I found this out through a doctor because I had a family member with a low immunity issues and was getting sick all the time.

I hope this helps you,
Hugs,
Magickal Kassie
