Sometimes due to competition they will spill the beans on each about incall locations.  Next thing you notice is a bust. Saw it happen in Howard and Anne Arundel county  maryland in 2007/2008.

I have read on line in few places that there has been lots of busts all over the place recently .
They bust pimps , johns , hookers .

My question is are you safer to use agencies vs independent ladies ?

Has anyone ever got busted in the past ?
What do you tell the cops ? how do you get off the hook ?
what are some tips , do's and don'ts if you do get caught as soliciting sex?

Just curious to hear some stories .

All levels hookers going to get busted for promoting and conducting illegal business everywhere.

Just be extra cautious in whom you select and as Sweet Malissa recommends, if LE does come up to you, just STFU.  You'll always be better off that way

what you need to realize is that Uncle LEO operations rise and fall with the tides of funding/grants, political agendas and when some idiots create a noticeable nuisance and the public complains.

I'd hazard a guess that the overall number of busts nationwide is about the same now as it has been in years past. LE is just more media-savvy and we hear more about the "success" of their "efforts". When LE speaks more loudly and repetitively, they increase the "deterrent effect" of the same level of actual police effort.

I believe the general consensus is that LE has limited funds and goes after low-hanging fruit and big juicy targets. For example, setting up a BP sting can net dozens quickly at low cost. LE can also control the environment for officer safety. LE also goes after bigger fish... and agencies with their client lists offer a nice, juicy target.

So... perhaps staying away from BP to avoid stings, sticking to Indies over agencies, and even sticking to outcall where LE might balk at not being able to control the environment are ways to minimize the risk of unexpectedly meeting Uncle LEO. Nothing is guaranteed, though.

If you do run into Mr. LE... it is too late for you. You WILL be arrested. The best defense is to say nothing; to STFU!

Just as there is no absolutely "safe sex", there is no absolutely "Safe hobbying"

While it is true that if you find yourself in the same room at the same time as LE, yes you are almost certainly going to jail (although I managed to avoid that fate one time about ten years ago), but if your run in with LE comes on your way into, or out from a session, the only way you are going to jail is if you talk your way "into" jail. Unless you lie to LE or confess to a crime, without "catching you in the act" there is no crime in walking into or out of a "suspected" hookers room or apartment. Admit to nothing and ask to be allowed to go about your day and 90+% of the time you will NOT be arrested.

Now OTOH, if you get caught up in a sting, inside the room with a LE officer, YEP you are going to jail. lol

was so damn broad in scope.... the experienced could write a book about each of his questions. I went for the simple, general answer for the sake of brevity.

They will bring you in for questioning and just ask for a lawyer. They have to let you go if no crime is committed. They key is not to talk about price for services. If that talk happens walk out the room.

I think the BP stings are more locally generated: who's up for reelection, who needs a scandal to distract the public from some other scandal.

The big agency stings that we've read about on the boards (NYC AMPs, Seattle "The League", a Greek goddess's companions, another Greek goddess and her companions ...) were substantially based on Federal investigation into money laundering, trafficking, tax evasion, etc. (Did the Seattle sheriff or police chief get in on the act, too?) The NYC AMP bust was under investigation for a couple of years. The first Greek goddess bust was also a lengthy Fed investigation. Although LE got phone lists, I don't recall any busts for the common misdemeanors that they use for BP busts.

In SOME ways, agencies are safer for the guys because the Feds target the money and the bosses and less so the working girls and guys

One of the most important things to understand as a US citizen is your rights and how to apply them in a police encounter. But sadly most people are clueless as they don't teach it in schools. I am not a lawyer so always do your own homework but my primer is a good start on what to do when dealing with cops regardless of why.

Now for your other questions. Agency or independent it doesn't matter. What matters is screening. Screening is what will really save you from LE. An once of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I wrote a newbie guide for that too.

LE is always active some places more than others.

Excellent point what matters screening.Illegal business.

At least, not the first one. Second one is.

I imagine a lawyer would tell you that if you're busted you should A) say nothing except "I would like to speak to an attorney" (and sooner rather as your rights don't really kick in until you do) and B) say nothing except "I would like to talk to an attorney." Seriously - don't say anything..

But the link at the very bottom is the same link and works great. As they are the same I don't get it.

There is a few additional points and things you should say. On top of I want a lawyer. For instance sadly you have to verbally excersize your right to remain silent because of a ruling or your silence can be used against you in court. You also should verbally refuse all searches. You should also identify yourself. And asking if your free to go is a good idea. It can stop fishing expeditions before they start

Otherwise vice budgets get reductions and cops get assigned away from pussy brigade.  Some jurisdictions have lots of funds for vice. They literally drive around in circuits around hotels monitoring prostitution activity.

Damn....those dreaded cameras that can see through walls and watch us handing the girl $300 or more, or in Chicken Little's case.

$40.

You watch way too much CSI.

I don't watch TV.  One county in Maryland launched a investigation when there internet busts almost went to zero. They lost $1 million out of there vice budget. It was good to see them refocused on going after guys soliciting children online instead of adults.

can we all be safe?
My goodness, when you think of what is going on in these hotel rooms and private apartments how can any of us feel safe

Legally, I'm required to give my name, address, and DOB.  If they want to ask about anything else, they can speak to my lawyer.

Do I currently have a lawyer?  No.  Doesn't matter though...once you invoke your right to a lawyer, LE don't get to ask any further questions until you have one.  They can assign one to you (to be sure it will be a shitty public defender), but for that they have to actually charge you with something first.

In terms of the hobby...never let a conversation include both a price an description of any sexual activity.  Not specifically, not generally, not ambiguously, no acronyms, no euphemisms.  Save that for when everyone is naked, and especially for an incall.  For outcall, clients should generally be safe from LE activity, because NO undercover female LEO or informant is going to walk into your house / hotel and let you close and lock the door behind them.

Are you safer with an agency?  Possibly...at least until the agency itself is busted and their client list exposed.

Last note, be very wary about any other criminal activities they could charge you with.  Open liquor, drugs, outstanding warrants, probation violations, suspended license, contributing to delinquency (depending on the age of the provider!) etc, are the BS charges LE would love to bring so they can force you to talk and trick you into admitting something else.
