But as I stated in my original post, 13% of the population commits 60% of the crime in this country. By the way, that 60% is pertaining to violent crimes - homicides, rape, robbery, assaults. So for me, it just doesn't matter if profiling is racist or not. It makes sense for law enforcement to concentrate their resources where the majority of crimes are being committed.

In all fairness, there is some truth to be found in what he is saying. Even though we've come a very long ways in terms of eliminating racism, one has to be a fool to deny that it still exists.
I find some of his statistics questionable though, regarding the percent chances of a job applicant being called back for an interview etc, but I don't doubt that it happens.
And he is right when he said that if these topics had been discussed, there would have been a flood of "he's pulling the race card" diatribes directed toward Obama.
However, regarding racial profiling. I'm sorry, I really don't care if it is considered "racist" or not. If I happen to notice that every single time my car is stolen, its stolen by someone wearing pink shoes, eventually I'm going to start noticing anyone and everyone wearing pink shoes, and regard them with a higher degree of suspicion than I would anyone who is not wearing pink shoes. That is just the reasonable and logical thing to do. I don't know where this fellow got his statistic about whites who's cars are searched being 4 times more likely to contain drugs, but I have to call BS on that. In terms of demographics, blacks make up about 13% of the population, but are responsible for roughly 60% of all crimes committed. There is just no getting around those stark numbers. Law enforcement says that profiling works, and it does.
