There is talk about cellphone numbers being added to directory assistance.  Also, sprint phones show up on caller ID with the owners name as do a few other carriers.  I was just giving this info out because on another board there has been lots of discussion about privacy....etc.

For those who have asked about how to keep their homelife and playtime separate, I am posting a referral to the company that I use for cell service.....

You could get a free ringtone if you buy a phone direct from Virgin Mobile. Here's what you need to do:

1. Buy a phone at http://www.virginmobileusa.com or by calling 1-888-322-1122.
2. Activate it before 3 p.m. Pacific Time on 5/3/04.
3. Enter my Virgin Mobile number — (425) 830-4611 — along with the top-secret promo code — Big Booty — when you activate the phone. Make sure you enter it exactly as you see it here — capital letters, a space, and all.

Anytime you buy a phone direct from Virgin Mobile, you'll get free shipping and up to $15 bonus airtime - $10 starter airtime plus another $5 the first time you use a registered credit card to Top-Up.

You can check out their phones and buy them at http://www.virginmobileusa.com/catalog/catalog.do.

and when you call someone with caller ID all that comes up is the number....no names like with some cell companies.

How do you recommend the same when using an agency?  They require name and photo Id much more than independents?

That part is an issue of safety.  I'm not telling you how to get around an agency, they ask for info strictly for safety reasons.  The reason I am recommending prepaid phones is so thst if a provider calls you your SO doesn't pick up the phone or worse yet finds the bills...etc.  Noone has to know that you have the phone, it can be left at your office...etc.

I am a newbee here..
Not clear about the safety advantage of a prepaid cell phone. What is the risk of a regular cell phone?
I was told names are not distributed with the owners phone number. It is private information
Do most providers have prepaid phones?
