Give all year

The holidays are when everyone seems to think about giving, it mid July when no one has it on their mind that people need help. I always try and do what I can, weather its giving money, a ride, organizing fund raisers, donating food and clothes etc.
Ive been working with charities since elementary school, I love the excitement and happiness the people get when you give.

We've all heard the jingle.  It make me laugh now.  But in all seriousness have you done anything this Christmas that helps your community?  Im HUGE about service.  So far the organization I work with has collected over 2000 toys and has directed half that number of children to angel trees and the like 100% of which got sponsored.  Helping people is one of my favorite things to do and while I do things all year Christmas just seems to be the best time to help folks out.  We also go Caroling every year, which sounds pretty lame but nobody does it anymore.  Last year a family came to my door to thank me because their mother wanted to see some Carolers because she hadnt in years.  A few days after Christmas she passed away, and she was happy she got to see carolers one last time.  Broke my heart, but Im definitely going every year now.  You never know how your actions will effect others.  So my good fellows and ladies........This is Christmas, and what have you done?

To my community to my family my friends my neighbors and especially to kids
You can see what I did this Christmas on the Carolina ad page under my Toys for Tots

I wanted to do something special in my community this year.  We all know there are far too many families that have no real place they can call home. Those reasons for their displacement or for how long is unknown. By lending a helping hand, when we can, brings a community closer. I have been collecting needed essentials for the local homeless shelter in my community for those families. It feels Soo wonderful to give back and I have my little elf helping me sort everything out for a Christmas Eve drop off.

This community has also contributed so a Big THANK YOU for you guys

Keep the spirit of Christmas in your hearts forever:-

Sure and I also do, but for some reason, to me, it just seems to mean more around this time of year.  Probably has to do with perception of the giving and the receiving parties due to the season.

I do a lot of work with local dog rescue groups and shelters. Volunteer work, educating the community about adoption, the importance of spay/neuter, eradicating puppy mills/backyard breeders, donating supplies and dog food to rescue groups, fostering and god knows what else lol. All year I donate dog food and related supplies. Shelters constantly need newspaper, litter, cleaning supplies, puppy formula, paper towels etc. I also donate money to fundraisers for pets dealing with serious illness/injuries/cancer whose families need financial assistance

Bought several gifts for a poor kid (5 year old girl) who otherwise wouldn't have had any Christmas gifts. I think I was only supposed to buy one of the items on the list but I got all 5. Then dropped off a huge pile of old blankets and towels at the local pet rescue place.

I have done this, and its a great feeling
