And they will keep buying new models until they have some that prove their point. Oh, yeah, it is no longer 'Global Warming'. Now it is 'Climate Change', because it is getting fucking colder. Perhaps the meteorologists were correct 35 years ago about a new ice age.......Al Gore coming out with a new movie, is he?

Is someone saying that there is something WRONG with the present computer models? Do they need some fixing or enhancements?

and if it benefits anybody it will be the favorite constituencies of the folks in power and the rich crooks who got us in this mess.

I'd just like to get my share.  Hell I can be as corrupt as the next guy.

Does anyone for that matter?

Simply saying old platitudes is not an idea or a plan.

Things have changed so get with it.

Maybe with the new models we can finally convince the morons who don't believe that we have impacted the world's climate through pollution.

about global warming.  Warming of the globe does not mean that temperatures rise everywhere.  It means that some places (like the poles) the temperatures rise causing a chain reaction with detrimental effects.  One of the reactions in the chain is an increased variance in temperatures around the globe, both hotter and colder and with more wild swings.

I usually read up a bit before I criticize or try to debunk any theory.

Damn straight I do. For instance, I read that NOAA says the northeast USA, Canada, the North Atlantic, and western Europe and Scandinavia are forecast to get colder for the next ten years or so. Why? They don't know. Read that the past year in China had average temps the coldest in over 100 years. Read that the Glaciers in northern California are growing, not melting. Mt Shasta glaciers are 30% larger than normal. Read that the Arctic ice shelf is larger than normal for this time of year. Read that, so far this past 12 months, the Antarctic temps are colder than normal. Read that the summer temps in the mid-west this past year were cooler than normal. Want me to keep going with this? Global warming is political bullshit. Just another way to squeeze money out of the taxpayers. Man made hysteria.

I think everyone has admitted to the inability to accurately predict weather anywhere.  There are too many variables for the computer models to properly account for everything.  As computers become more sophisticated, better models can be created.

BTW, do you agree that among scientists, most of the debate is about the cause of global warming, not its existence?

But it is the CLIMATE models that so many are hanging there hats on, claiming to know what the future holds.

Yes, there has been a slight warming trend recently and an even more recent but shorter duration cooling trend. There is no real causality that's been demonstrated to claim that it's created by man. On top of that, nut cases like Gore have resorted to lying and distortions for potentially what seems to be personal gain.

I am not a climatologist. I am an engineer. I know my own limitations, but I can interpret what others are saying. The vast majority of the list of scientists that are being touted as experts, are no such thing.

Hey, us warmophobics are curious about how screwed the human race is. Given the effect it might have on the economy, like the southwest US getting dryer, if that's possible.

So, let's see: $140 million. That's about .016 percent of the bill. I have to admit, I wish coming to me. Don't you wish it were coming to you?

I'm supposing with faster computers they could run more simulations and gather statistics and probabilities from them. Which is really the way climate change is modeled.
