Why would LE use a retired provider's account to catch a John? If LE was using TER to catch john's wouldn't they try to flip an active lady rather than a retired one?
So there's a provider who "retired" a couple of years ago and decided to make a UTR comeback. She sends me a TER private message asking if I'd like to catch up. I am more than excited to do that but just a little worried that she would use the TER pm to inform me about this an not my email or didn't text me for that matter. The messages on pm are very small and sporadic. I want to see her and am very eager but worried if this is an LE trap. Am I being paranoid? Or is this a possibility? If so, how do I make sure I don't fall into the trap? Would appreciate any inputs.

But as for your situation:
It can't be totally discounted, but I have never heard of LE using TER to set up a sting. If you doubt the authenticity of this provider, then do ask her to send you an email. If her demeanor is not as you recall, then to be safe, it might be better not to communicate any more. You could also ask a question of her that only she would know, and see how she does.
If you are wondering if LE is trying to get you, meet her in a public place, if it's her, you're good to go. If you think she is working with LE, that gets a little trickier. I would ask her to send TER handles of other guys she has recently seen and check with them.
BTW, she has already read your post, so she knows you are suspicious. Maybe she will reply.
If she had deleted all contact info, and tossed her work phone, then TER would be the easiest way to get a hold of past client. It seems easier for LE to use email for a sting, than to hack into a TER account. Also if a TER account was hacked, then it might be harder to use gathered info in court? Just my thoughts.
but my first thought was a tie between agreeing that YES he is most definitely paranoid and thinking "what a dumb fucking question" to myself. I think the two thoughts entered my mind almost simultaneously.
unless she has gone over to the dark side, you can bail out if it's not her at the door before any transaction takes place.

but when they have no sense of humor, get all defensive and start whining about us being "mean" to them, like Scoed or Scoed Jr, I tend to act like a shark who smells blood in the water.
I post stupid shit all the time, and it's rare that anyone EVER gives me a pass without taking a shot at me. I think it kind of goes with the territory.
