This is sensitive but here goes; Has anyone here been afflicted with Prostate Cancer? If so which protocol have you used to treat it; Surgery, General Radiation or Proton Therapy? Finally how long was the recovery to the point you were able to partake in normal sexual endeavors?

I had a check-up two weeks ago and got the PSA screen and old-fashioned finger wave. Both came back normal.
Your query is totally relevant. There is also more discussion on the over 60 board, where many posters have dealt with the issue. Results vary widely, of course. The best and most important thing to do is consult a highly reputable urologist and avoid some of the quackery that appears in the mass media. That's what urologists do, among other things: diagnose prostate cancer and other diseases of the urinary tract, administer PSA tests and biopsies, perform surgery and/or radiation as necessary, analyze the outcomes, prescribe options to proceed if there is some degree of damage (which is likely), and advise on things like pills, injections, whatever. Don't be daunted; if you have something get it taken care of and proceed with confidence that you know what you're doing. Good luck!

I do have a few friends who have had prostate cancer. Some have had seeds implanted. Some had surgery. Long story short they were all successful. It was a process of course and scary at times. Cancer just the word cancer is scary...believe me I know. Just have faith even when you feel like all faith is lost. 😇
This is something that wasn't done nearly as much just a few years back. Turns out that the outcome for treatment and not treatment is about the same for most (not all...) cases.
Your urologist will fuck you up if you let him to finish that remodel on his lake house..... but that's possibly being unfair. Just keep in mind that he makes more money cutting it out than leaving it in.
Now - obviously, if you have a seriously aggressive condition that really needs something - well, so be it. As it turns out - not as common as you might think. But if it were my dick.... I'd at least get a second opinion

Personally, I'm convinced that stressful sexual behaviors and attitudes in adulthood show up as prostate inflammation, and that can lead to cancer.
Have there been no studies correlating prostate health with what goes on "in the bedroom"? Such science would seem to be outside the realm of urologists, who usually avoid discussing erotic matters.
I wonder if second marriages are a healthful thing? How about guilt-free masturbation when needed? How about occasional trips to a well-reviewed provider?

Rider, assistant professor of epidemiology, and colleagues found that an ejaculation frequency of 21 or more times per month at ages 20–29 years or 40–49 years is associated with a significant, 19 percent and 22 percent decreased risk of a Prostate Cancer diagnosis, respectively, compared with a frequency of 4 to 7 times per month in adjusted analyses."

Thanks to impposter for reporting an important and eye-opening scientific study.
Now we know that for better long-term prostate health a guy should ejaculate 21 times a month. If my arithmetic is correct, he needs to do it about five times a week. Hmmm. Friday, Saturday and Sunday -- as well as twice during the work week as conditions allow.
That old phrase "two or three times a week" just doesn't cut it anymore. It's in error by a factor of two
