The post a couple of weeks ago from the OP that was confused by all the acronyms, got me to thinking -- which terms that we use regularly are general terms, which are hobby terms, and which are TER terms?

For example, mish, cowgirl and doggy are all terms most of the general population would recognize, but I've never seen DATY, DATO, FIV or FIA anywhere but here.  Fake boobs are man-mades everywhere, but I've only seen "bolt-ons" on this site.

I honestly can't remember where I learned the term Greek, but I learned Russian and Italian on TER.  Even BBBJ I learned here, but I knew "no-quit, no-spit" 40 years ago in high school.

Anyway, what are the origins of some of these terms, and which terms were first coined here?  Any other terms that may be unique to the hobby or TER? I'm sure many of you have some insight in this.

Here on TER in the Self Help acronyms section.  Or go to The Urban Dictionary.  You'll find them all.  I've actually made up about a half dozen terms on The Urban Dictionary.  Like Black Hole Douche.
Like Yogi said, "You could look it up."

that you don't remember where you first heard about Greek.  Maybe you were passed out.

The terms here are hobby terms that were created over time via hobbyists and providers need to communicate. They change over time and since the growth of TER the terms were able to be listed and published in a public forum. For the most part, a mainstream language or sexwork is possible. It is not perfect but it is really nice to have when comparing to the days we did not have the internet.

DATY and doggy and many others have been around for a very very long time. However, I recall a user from the mid 90s aka Salty Dog (RIP) that really utilized DATY in open forums and this lead to DATY contests, etc.  It's fair to say that everyone joined in for the collective use of the (very funny) term and we all went with it. It was a tiny joke at the time and became something mainstream.  Many of the additional word uses that you refer to were developed in the same humorous way and became an optional standard by which many can now refer to.
This defines how this all works and what TER is good enough to publish for the world to see.

Think of it like the LA Times of sexwork.  They don't create it here, they just publish. Thank god that men like yourself can learn all of these simple terms so that women aren't put in a position to teach you. Trust me, we can't stand that crap.

Which terms would you like to know about specifically ? lol.

But seriously. I know who invented "GFE' and I can tell you what things used to be called and what changed in the trends of sexwork to change our use of wordage.  Feel free to ask me anything.

Oh...

And be mindful that our discussions here may lead to additional and or varied terms for the future. The exchange of valuable information in an open forum is exactly how it all happens.

Take good care & keep the panties on the floor, everyone.

(And I do.), the real puzzler is why a blow job isn't called a suck job.

Any takers for that one
