But whether it was because of the vocal quality or what she said and the way she said it? That's actually hard to remember.
I know that several times the voice quality on, say, voice mail, seems so completely out of sync with what I imagined from her pictures that it was a bit disconcerting. That's totally irrational, of course. Why should I think I could guess the type of voice a woman would have from just seeing a picture? It's all very under-conscious that I don't think about it until hearing her voice.
There are traits that I find alluring and some that grate on me, but even if the voice isn't disturbingly harsh I might rethink setting up a rendezvous just because it wasn't at all what I expected or feel it just didn't gel.
OTOH! I've often done all of the setup via email and text, and did not hear the providers voice until the door opened and we were face to face. And I have NEVER had a negative or uncertain reaction to anyone's voice in those cases.
So...maybe just when the voices are disconnected from the person.. Does that sound right?
Many people do underestimate meeting face to face and relying on internet and other means of communication.

As a woman I would add following - THAT may work for men - as men are visual creatures
and I think for a woman - it would not work - woman loves with ear
( we say in Russia - woman - to be successful- has to be deaf - so she would not open her heart to obvious lies and would us only her mind in making decisions based on facts and not on promises said.

I grew up in the Television era, nevertheless, I listened to a lot of radio. You could hear a DJ's voice for years before ever seeing him or her. Always a complete shock what they looked like.
I would rather see the picture first and hear the voice second than to hear the voice and then see the picture/person.
But I discount voice only so much because I know it only fits after I've seen the person.
And frankly I don't believe people who say they can tell what a person looks like from their voice. Reminds me of this funny Asian video where a group of American Asians boasted that they could identify different Asian ethnicities by looking at pictures, better than whites could. So in the video the three are presented with 20 pictures of other Asians. They failed miserably. The highest score of the three only got half right. One only got one face in three correct.
Many people think they can do things that they can't really do. They just never test themselves to find out.
Hint: Animated movie characters never look like the actual voice talent

annoyed by her voice, I am usually already in the session, so time to turn lemons into lemonade. I just ask for a slow, long BJ that takes up the rest of our time together. I agree that hearing a person's tone and inflection and overall manner of speaking, can reveal volumes about their personality and can help you verify your potential attraction to them. Although tonal quality has never been an issue hobbywise, it has in the past been a factor with civvies. A high pitched, above Soprano octive voice can be a negative (I've known two, and both were hot. But the high pitch of their voices tonally was an offset. I've also known ladies that had really really sexy voices over the phone that were a letdown when I met them in person looks-wise. But that's just my opinion, FWIW.
The Voice is a huge part of communication. Voice can reveal what is really going on inside a person.

Russian accents are right up there, along with English, Scottish, and Irish ones.

I had vocal nodules in college, and was sent to voice therapy. At the time, i was talking in my lower register as a habit, which is OK unless you need really healthy vocal cords. They teach you how to talk higher, but really a lot of it is practice and discipline, air usage technique, exercises, and awareness.
When you talk lower and aren't supposed to, without doing it for a reason, your vocal cords flap and tap each other, when that's what causes damage.
I felt pretty stupid talking higher, because I felt like Michael Jackson lol! But over time as you get the hang of it, it starts to feel and sound natural.
I've heard of people getting botox on the throat for tremors,etc... but if it's just to be sexy, I would be careful, as you want to be able to sing if you're into singing, even for fun, or even don't want your voice messed with. And try the speech therapy first. It can be a little expensive, but when it comes to someone's voice, you really don't want to mess that up, so start off with speech therapy.

Yes, but more from her "inner" voice than from her vocal chords. Inflection, "sing-song"-iness and so on come from within. The actual sound (vibrations) could be genetic or due to health or related issues.
