I watched it a really long time ago, when I was too young to watch such films hehe. But I am interested in revisiting it, because he was quite ahead of his time.

Re the political climate, we're slowly evolving out of those puritanical values. I like to engage with more freedom-minded/critically-thinking folks.

From 2004 (yeah, I'm slow) and was just floored by how well they nailed the uptight culture resisting his research.  Having been raised in such an oppressive house and town where everyone had the same religion, and enjoyable sex was a pathway to hell, this movie was like dipping a toe into my past.

Just amazes me how fearful people were of a given range of facts about life, and the concerted efforts to oppress anyone from learning of them.  The battle still wages today but I'm guessing the internet (hi everybody!) has opened up communication pathways to exponentially forward the discussion among those who are interested.

Thanks TER

I am running into a lot of Fear (still) promoting women's orgasms.  I have had three YouTube channels struck because of the talk about Orgasms and showing my Orgasm face. We have not "arrived" ,yet, at where we need to be with the evolving of sexuality.  The old programming from Religion blocks people from entertaining new thoughts.

Although I think the film somewhat down played his role, Herman Wells, the president of the university, was really the person who made Kinsey's work possible. He demonstrated tremendous courage for the times, and in the face of the conservative attitudes of the state.

I met Chancellor Wells a few times, and even in his old age he was a rather amazing gentleman.
