how to fuck without telling him to take his pants off first!

Ocassionally, there are posts on this and other boards where a URL (a web address) is placed in the body of the message. As a result, in order to use the link, it is necessary to copy the URL and paste it into the browser's address bar. Although this entails only a slight waste of time and effort, it is also slightly annoying. And it is unnecessary as well.

Here's a tip: When making a new post, you will see, beneath the message window, a small rectangular box with the words "link URL" to the left. That's where the URL goes. Beneath that, there is another box with the words "link title" to the left. That's where the link title goes. An example of how it's supposed to work can be found at the bottom of this message.

First of all, links in the body of the text usually do work:

However you are correct that it is better to put them in the url box intended for them. For one thing a little paper clip will show up in the subject line showing there is a link in the post.

The problem is usually with https links. You need to remove the "s" for the link to work without copying and pasting. You also can't add characters like a period at the end.

When putting links in the url box, you still need to remove the "s" and in fact, you also you need to remove one set of "http://", because when you copy and paste the url from your address bar it will have the http, but TER also already has it in their link box, so you end up with a double http, and that won't work.

...if someone is too stupid to find, analyze, utilize and optimize the "link url" function at the bottom of a message page (right under the admonition "html tags are not allowed in message body") then i figure whatever they are linking to is also stupid, so i pass.
