END OF MESSAGE

I posted, but the thread is 3 weeks old so it's now dead.. I found it interesting.. I wonder if anyone else had the patience to watch it.. is all..

Here's the link to the original discussion..

I look for the psychological interplay of the characters and the non- verbal communication as well.  Keough  is very intuitive and always has a sense as she is on borrowed time.  She is also getting ready for the fact that she is alone and is calculative in terms of getting the optimal deal.  This is true when she is up against a wall and accrues incriminating evidence on the phone to receive a major settlement.  Not that this is true for all participants in the trade, but she is preparing to live her life on the periphery of society.

So I went out and got a couple of handjobs from a gal with a rubber glove. Life is good.

Beter in the beginning...then it got boring....bad writing and bad acting......and no effing way was she a lady that could get the fees they said in the show.

That's what I said in my comment on the old thread.. $2,000 for an evening? never.. I'm sure our lady friends are exposed to plenty of somewhat different behaviors.. but by and large, I suspect most guys are fairly predictable.. seems that she met with a fair number of odd ducks..

the show couldn't make up its mind, plot & theme-wise, exactly what sort of show it was...

was it an exploration of the world of an escort?  if so, why spend so much and detail on the intricacies of the corruption within the law firm she interned at?  why wait til the last episode to show an entire session?  and what was the point of that last session, in terms of the main character's development and acceptance of her choices?

was it a legal mystery, where the protagonist couldn't go to the authorities because of her own illegal behaviors?  if so, why wasn't the resolution of the corruption shown? (as far as we know, her corrupt boss got away with the embezzlement and legal misconduct).

and i had a huge problem with her client who fell in love with her, got booted by her, began to stalk her, called her day job and private cell phone, hacked her email and sent everyone that sex tape of them together (so the show led us to believe) and then suddenly disappeared from her life.  the stalker obviously was simply a plot device, and not a real human being who could have been lethally dangerous to her.

very bad plotting, very sloppy writing.  and as far as the world of the escort goes, the show was too clinical to be sexy, and too dispassionate to be a cautionary tale.  was i supposed to root for the girl to succeed as lone femaile entrepreneur, or hope she would redeem herself and re-claim her position in the world of ordinary morality?  or was there even any of these questions asked?  i think not.

it was exec produced by soderberg, based on his movie, but i think he had little to do with the actual creating of each episode.  it looked to me like soderberg-lite... all the famiiar soderberg techniques but none of the underlying questions or themes (no questions or themes at all as far as i could see).

thumbs down for me

Just because you don't want to pay $2,000 (or more) for an evening with a provider doesn't mean every other man in the entire Universe doesn't want to and/or will not.

Myself and many other lovely ladies have experience this generosity.

With that said, please speak for yourself

guys can't believe someone would pay over 3/hr!!  high rollers, all!

There's some, ::cough,cough:: that under the right circumstances could do the 2k and more for a lovely night on the town......And 2k for an overnighter in some cities is a deal..(not that I would do it, an overnight that is)

And real life instances where I can relate and have heard/witnessed. I don't want to give it away but...I found some scenes where I said to myself.."Yeah, I remember something like that...lol"

Spoiler alert......not surprised by the ending....Ha!
Now is it me or does that chic have a BCS look sometimes?

But not the reality. I watched the whole season and thought, firstly, how would a woman who is so morose be successful? Some of her travails seemed right out of a supermarket tabloid tell-all. And the sex scenes? Unrealistic. When was the last time you fucked a provider at her price point that kept her clothes on? Btw, anyone notice the hooker math? There was a scene early on where she's looking at her friend's web page price list. It said "$2000 for one hour $5000 for two hours."

She causes a lot of her own misery I think.. The stalker.. the boss.. but a great (way more than is ever paid).. settlement on the harassment issue.. and as a best buddy of a guy who got fired for a single issue of lack of judgement.. it does happen..

...if I ever encountered a provider with her lack of personality and lack of enthusiasm, I'd never repeat with her
