Thinking about end goals...

Someone recently asked me how long I want to be in the business, so I have been thinking about my 5-year plan.

My goals include paying off the loans from my expensive Ivy League education, getting a culinary degree, experiencing as much of the world via travels as possible, and having a financial cushion when the aforementioned has been reached.

I'm letting my intuition drive, because greed can sometimes take over (we're human after all). I'll retire once I feel/know it is time.

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME RESPONSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not sure why anytime I post a thread almost all of the responses I receive are private messages. I am asking this question to be answered publicly for a specific reason.

I left the biz a few years ago as I was at a cross roads. I have a regular business that desperately needed me there and the man I was dating was not OK with this line of work- so it was time to go.

I had broached the subject of returning several times over the 3.5 years I was off to no acceptable compromise. I came back a few months ago under the conditions that my now husband might like me better  (which NO he does not!!!).  I love the money, I love the freedom the money gives me, and I love sharing such intimate sessions with different people so I am just built for this hobby. I am now back full steam ahead. I had been trying to not work a lot but the hell with it, I look good NOW- I'm 45- I don't really have time on my side to bank this money later so I'm in a zone that until I get what I need this time 100% I will stay in. I am not too worried about an exact goal or date to be done. My children are all grown and off on their own. I filed for divorce on Friday. My friends that are worth anything know what I do. My business is how I support myself so this money from gifts - well I have no motivation to give it up. Because I do not rely on it, I can and am picky so I truly am blessed to enjoy what I do as a Dom/Escort.

I spent a lovely day with a man yesterday. His Dad had been a pimp- so he had very interesting views of the business. We got on how and why girls leave. I have an idea of why I think most girls leave but am just curious as to why if any reasons girls leave- so many come back a couple months later that I sometimes wonder if its not a marketing ploy!

Well it all started for me....I'll make it short to the point....

There's many many reasons people leave the business. If I named them all,I would have made a book by now.But hey majority of providers stay in the business.

I can only speak for myself, but I will occasionally PM someone with my response to a question when it's NOT something I feel like sharing publicly.  I've also received many PMs from ladies who just don't post here; they'll answer privately, but that's it.  Nothing wrong with not wanting to let it all hang out on the GD, in my personal opinion. We all have our own comfort levels. :-)

Question for you:  Why do you only want public responses for this?  :-)

Right?  I'm in the same age group as you and it sounds like we're totally on the same page there! ;-)

Big hugs & love to you!!! Very hard to take that first step, and in many cases, it's just the first step on an unpleasant journey.  Good luck to you! xoxoxo  :-)

We got on how and why girls leave. I have an idea of why I think most girls leave but am just curious as to why if any reasons girls leave-
Of the ladies I've known who leave and return within a few months it has usually been either:

A) She left the biz for someone she was dating; that didn't work out so now she's back

Or....

B) She had reached a point where she felt she was done.  Then, after a break, she felt better and able to return..... and/or she missed the $$$ enough to overcome her prior issues with it.

My own reasons:  The first time I left (and I really did say I was done then) was because I had a very bad experience.
This was a long time ago, when screening just wasn't what it is now.

The 2nd time I "retired" it was for my now ex-husband.

3rd: I got outed to my family & friends.  Really thought I was done then but where there's a will...... ;-)

The last time that I "left" it wasn't a big momentous thing and I always hoped to return.   I just wasn't making much money here, and was doing better stripping, so I went back to that full-time for a few years.   Just last week I posted about my current comeback so rather than writing all that again, I'm including a link to that post.  :-)

This could be, but I've noticed this more when they leave and then re-invent themselves under a new name and/or persona.   ;-)

your candor, honest, and refreshing posts.  Some either post or reply without giving their input much thought.  Most posts reveal much about the person who posted it, even though they may not realize it.

Can tell you are a very special person who is not only genuine and articulate but who clearly has empathy for those you connect with.  Those clients in your area who are granted an appointment with you, are quite fortunate.

The person I discussed this topic with, may or may not be on TER.
I have never asked him because he knows 100% what I am all about.
I feel if he wanted to share his hobby life with me, he would.
I would just never ask.
I did want him to be able to just see any responses and if we ever discuss the hobby again, I will not have to say oh hey I received XXX response.

Welcome back BTW.

I have learned the true friends will support you no matter what.
My best friends all would really prefer I NOT do this but ... to pretty much quote-lol"
if I am going to be a ho-be the best damn ho you can be and bank that money"
My dearest friend is very supportive and always laughs at the dumb bitches who can't give that pussy away fast enough and for free to some jobless looser but they will sling that ho word around like it's nothing!!!!!!!!!

ALL LEVELS ESCORTS GOTTA EAT.MONEY is KING

Someone recently asked me how long I want to be in the business, so I have been thinking about my 5-year plan.

My goals include paying off the loans from my expensive Ivy League education, getting a culinary degree, experiencing as much of the world via travels as possible, and having a financial cushion when the aforementioned has been reached.

I'm letting my intuition drive, because greed can sometimes take over (we're human after all). I'll retire once I feel/know it is time.

While not quite on point for those of us who may regularly see or a provider or hope to some day to visit you, a short note on TER that you are retiring - no reason necessary - would be nice.

Hi There

I did have a boyfriend and I did want to be with him but then I moved to LA.

Alley

I've been doing this for five years or so now, and I plan to "retire" in a couple years to focus on opening my own restaurant, once my nest egg is sizable enough to both find that endeavor and cover my living expenses for a year while that venture takes its time to turn profitable.

I say "retire" because I don't know whether it will be a temporary leave of absence while I focus on my other business, and I will return to the industry once that is well-established, or whether it will actually be a permanent retirement.

Guess it will depend on how much I miss this industry once I've taken a year off from doing it!

And probably will depend on how much money my restaurant is making too.  ;)

I have a feeling that even if my reataurant is doing very well, I *might* miss the quick large sums of cash.  But maybe I won't.  I didn't feel that I needed that kind of money prior to entering this business, and in Mumbai I *really* don't need it.  But then again, maybe I will also miss meeting strangers, being a sex educator, having NSA connections, being spoiled to nice dinners and vacations by romantic gentlemen, etc., too.  ;)

Although some providers return for various reasons, it is usually a means to an end.  Usually the goal is to obtain education or saving enough to reach a certain goal.  Also maybe one's financial needs might be met, but what about her psychological and emotional needs as well.  Women who are fairly young in this business want to live full lives and in the mainstream and although they might hold full time jobs in addition to this I know sometimes they feel an extra burden of having to preface certain answers when they receive certain questions.  Finally I think most women feel happier when they can do something in the mainstream that they like and are more proficient with their overall emotional health.

Ladies get sick of men grading them for such a personal and private act and tearing them to pieces in detail in review. That shit rips at your soul and self worth over time until there is nothing left. Had a provider friend who couldn't handle it either. She left. I stick around because I am a dumb ass.

When I read reviews as a client, I am discounting anything about appearance because everyone has different tastes.  What I am looking for in a review is whether they thought any pictures or descriptions were wildly inaccurate or really terrible attitudes.  I also don't take one review as gospel -- that one guy could be a dickhead.  I also ignore the numerical ratings on TER.   I go by the verbal, as the two don't always match up.  I've seen nice verbal reviews with low numerical scores.    So if the average of reviews is positive verbally, and the pictures are roughly accurate (not dishonest) then she's someone I would potentially see.

These provider stories of returning (and desiring to return) kind of make me hot!

I like the fact that some ladies like the work (as compared to other forms of work.

1) found a boyfriend/SO/Husband/sugar daddy
2) met their financial goals
3) found a civvy job
4) got busted
5) got outed
6) got clean
7) got tired of it
8) ...

There are all kinds of reasons ladies do this job snd all kinds of reasons they quit. Of course many quit and come back.

In September of 2014, right after I had my breast surgery,  I decided I needed to find someone to have casual no strings attached sex with while I'm back home in bama. I get plenty of sex when I'm touring,  but I'm a recluse so I didn't have anyone to keep me sexual satisfied when I'm back home for a week or two in between trips.
So back to September: I began my search on social media talking to a few guys from my hometown to decide if I thought they would be good candidates. I didn't want a relationship,  just casual sex. I met a couple of guys in person who turned out to be dull/dumbasses. Then I met this other guy. I actually enjoyed his company and I had the best sex ever with him. The plan was only to use his body for sex In between work trips, but for the first time in my life I fell in love.  I decided to quit the business  (dumb idea). We even moved in together. (Dumb idea) I started going back to college while he worked and paid all my bills. I did have a pretty substantial nest egg saved up from my time in the biz, but it was like I was a stay at home house wife. Aside from college,  all I would do was stay home and keep the house clean,  do his laundry,  and make sure he always had a hot meal when he came in from work. I never thought I would want to live like that, but I really enjoyed the domesticated life. I even stopped taking my birth control (very dumb idea) for about 3 months so we could try to start a family together. Luckily it didn't work because although the relationship seemed so great at first, it quickly turned sour. He would constantly accuse me of cheating on him, even though for the first time in my life I was monogamous. I don't think he was able to get over the fact that I had done porn and all his friends had seen me naked and jerked off to my videos. I finally ended the relationship and after finishing up the semester I was in, returned to adult films and escorting.
