Asheville is a beautiful city!

It's very eclectic, lots of cultural things to do, and it isn't over saturated with providers. Of course it's COLD in the winter, lol. Summers are beautiful there, and the leaves changing in fall are spectacular!

You'll only be a little over a 2 hr drive to Charlotte, and a tad over 2 hrs to Winston Salem. Greensboro is another half hour from WS, so you should be good to go for those areas!

I hope enjoy you  Asheville and get a warm welcome from the fine gentlemen and ladies here in NC.

I use to play there all the time a few back, still go back from time to time)  Hmmm, could have sworn I saw Steph give you the run down on the area earlier this morning on this post?????
Know one large agency in area, and several local ladies, with some ladies visiting, occasional B/P diamond, usual stones, but you will be a welcome addition as a local, however, if you want to visit nearby, you are within a reasonable driving distance to Charlotte, Greenville, SC, NOT NC), even Greensboro, depends on your bookings, I guess to make that trip worth the time in the vehicle) MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR wreck and back up on I-85 NOW---everybody hit the exits ASAP(

Others have given spot-on info about distances to the larger cities so you have some good info for planning tours. I think Asheville is a wonderful place to visit - downtown has lots of unique restaurants and shops. (Check out Zambra Tapas sometime - it's a great, cozy place!) I have been promising myself I'd take some time off to make a hobbying-visit there.

That makes me feel better to know, and I'm glad there are other nearby cities to visit too! I've been in my area my whole life, so it's going to be crazy adjusting to it. I'm excited Thanks so much!
