I got an email from TF (my hobby account) saying that I'm being offered a new TF because the network I'm using will be upgraded. (2G being discontinued) Of course my TF is registered to a default address in Florida, LOL! Kind of defeats the purpose to have a FREE phone shipped to my home address. Not Happening!
I guess I'll be shopping for a new TF. I don't know if it's worth trying to keep my number or not... unless I can avoid the re-registering hassle.

is considering (or perhaps passed?) a law requiring an ID to get a cell phone from now on
I need more info on this because I don't wanna give any of my info to get this type of phone, any info?
Great info. Thx.
You can get a new trakphone and have the number switched.
and like it that way. I don't text if I can avoid it. A simple flip phone is all I need... so my TF is the same & fits in the same closed carrier... If I met some one on the way to a 'date', no one would realize. The carrier stays threaded on my belt.
So for under $20, I can buy a new TF. I was actually thinking of a new phone, yes I was in on the previous conversation. I guess this will push me into it. I'll try to transfer my number. I've done it before & should be able to again.
WM has a dark ages TF flip phone just under $15. I'm looking to see if there are others I like better but the corner convience store was out today. I like my present one as it is a Motorola not some brand I'd never heard of
I bought the WM Trac Fone & managed to transfer my minutes to it from my old one... on line. It's an LG, slightly larger than my civie LG phone & takes the same charger
