I think music is an interesting piece of a persons personality.  Sometimes is easy to read but sometimes it isnt.  When you see a kid wearing all black, jamming out to metallica, no shocker there, but when you see a 'gangsta' listening to that it will make you raise an eyebrow or do a double-take.  I get this all the time being from a blended and mixed family I grew up listening to everything and hence I have a very eclectic style when it comes to music.  I dislike almost nothing.  However Im curious as to what other Hobbyists and Providers like to listen to.  Now, that being said mood is everything.  No metallica during sexy time, at least not for me :-)  but I have listed two songs below (at least I hope I attached them right) one for easy listening and one when Im feeling upbeat and hitting 100Mph in my Trans-am on I-40.  Its cheesy but I cant resist lol!  Im interested to see others points of view and likes/dislikes.  I was thinking of doing this in the general discussion, but Carolina boards have been fairly active the last few days.  Wanna keep it going

Yea my link skills stink, BUT you can copy paste the second half if you're savvy enough

Can't go wrong with either of these groups when it comes to listening to something relaxing or upbeat.

Great choice!! And makes for a hilarious attempt after a few drinks at karaoke!

Cant go wrong with Phil.  Im an 80's geek.  I love 80's music.  I like new stuff too, but 80's gets me every time.
Kelis, also two great choices! :-)

There were some amazing groups back in those day. Would of liked to throw some Chicago in thee. Peter Cetera was my favorite in that group.

It was a fun time.  A good part of my childhood.  When men looked like women :-D, played guitars and made lots of money doing it.  And we all loved it, haha!

This song is great! Only whenever I hear it now I picture Zack Galifianakis(?) In hangover lol

I'm much like you in a sense that I grew up on just about everything. My grandparents got me hooked on jazz/blues/big bang, my all time favorite musicians being Billie Holiday, Helen Humes, Shirley Horn, Joe Williams, Louis Armstrong, etc.

Billie Holiday - All of me: http://youtu.be/4P0hG3sD0-E

DARK RAPTURE by Count Basie with Helen Humes 1938: http://youtu.be/oA-b_gbuJqY

Joe Williams and Nancy Wilson with Count Basie Or…: http://youtu.be/04BQo6Rz4i0

I listen to music while I clean, bathe, cook, drive, relax, browse TER,  pretty much breathe lol so I have many different modes of listening. When I am entertaining I usually like to play something that fills the room while not distracting. A few artists I love for this purpose are of course Billie, Madeleine Peyroux, Goapele, Marsha Ambrosius, Alicia Keys, Heather Headley, Emeli Sande,

Goapele - Undertow: http://youtu.be/w_BNXqpdBTg

Marsha Ambrosius   So Good: http://youtu.be/YhQDE3sWV5E

Emeli Sande - Where I Sleep (Live on 89.3 The Cur…: http://youtu.be/s9Q4NoIgU1U

When I am feeling a little crazy and hyper and just want to dance around (which is almost always, don't we all love a Sagittarius? Lol ;) ) I usually listen to Pharell Williams/N.E.R.D. , Ed Sheeran, Fun., Janelle Monae

Pharrell Williams - Come Get It Bae: http://youtu.be/UfGMj10wOzg

Ed Sheeran - Sing (Official Video): http://youtu.be/tlYcUqEPN58

Janelle Monáe - Electric Lady [Official Video]: http://youtu.be/LPFgBCUBMYk

When I listen to hip hop it is usually  a california dance song by various rappers, music that I guess has to grow on the taste buds of southerners. I had a friend I've recently met here in NC call our music "jingly jangle music" lol!! I am actually playing this song right now

Adrian Marcel - 2AM. ft. Sage The Gemini: http://youtu.be/ae_Ev_lwpUg

Hopefully you guys like the links! Electric Lady by Janelle Monae is definitely my feel good song of the moment. Her albums are awesome! Beyonce, rihanna, Nicki, basically mainstream gimick artists I listen to every so often, but not too much.

My all time favorite upbeat for an open road drive would be "Hush" by "Deep Purple! I would not dare drive 100 mph in my vehicle, but a hell yeah! in a classic Trans-am..LOL   http://youtu.be/W1PNvopXjbg

My seductive mood choice would be "Sadness" by "Enigma" most of their music sounds erotic and dark, but very sensual at the same time.

My Trans-am is my baby.  Ill have to take you for a ride one day Mona ;-)

My best friend in HS had a 76 Trans Am. He bought it with inheritance money before he turned 16. We got in a lot of trouble in that car. Outran a couple cops too. He never once let me drive it back then.

Fast forward 20 years later I was out visiting, and he let me take it out. It was just before he sold it, and yeah it was old and tired by then. I still got it up to 140 on a nice straight away. I couldn't help myself. :)

I forgot to mention, I love Enigma.  All of their songs have a very spiritual undertone.

I haven't heard this song since I was a kid! I'm not very old now lol but my mom used to love Tracy Chapman and similar artists like Melissa Etheridge and Alanis Morisette. Definite classics ;)

Tracy Chapman is such a good entertainer.  I love her music.  :-)

Birdluvr69 has oldies running through my head.  Here is one of my favorites.  Yes I see the irony.  :-D

Yeah, Sue was one of my GFs, before the Hobby, and she broke my heart---guess she was advanced for that time, having multiple partners;P~~~ Now I can't count the times my heart has been broken by other "Sues" in the Hobby:((  Someone once said that women are like puzzles with some pieces missing---can't figure 'em out, sooooo, now I just go along for the "Ride;P~~~" for however long they let me:))

But I can NOT listen to "Danger Zone" while driving because I will hit the vehicle speed limiter or mechanical limits.  Been there, done that, had a looooong talk with the Highway Patrol, county sheriff, and my dad -- all at one time!  Hazard of growing up in a small community where everyone knows everyone, but at least tickets were rare.

for horizontal dancing. I'm a bog fan of Sade' or the more mellow side of Bob Seger. I was looking around for some of their tunes but got lost in the process. Another group I really enjoy listening to when intimate is called The Civil Wars. Here is a link to one of my favorites.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkYNeLmgfBU&list=UUzHj3WRh2qY4igSJDY0vBjg

It's not the full song but only about a minute of it. There are other links on the youtube site that has more samples of their work. I'm just very much a hedonist and love beautiful women, music and anything else that gives pleasure through any of the senses.

I have a complete playlist I usually bring with me and depending on my mood and the ambiance, it rolls.  It's loaded up with some Boney James, Brian Culbertson, Wayman Tisdale, Kirk Whalum, some Luther, Marvin, and you just can't have that list without some Barry White in there too!!!

Here's a link to one my favs from Kirk Whalum..

I'm looking forward to seeing Brian Culbertson later this year in NC in person.  Should be incredible.

I'm a big Boney James fan, I've seen him 4Xs in concert. Everyone on your playlists are some of my favs!!!

Steph xoxo

I doubt it's a coincidence that the 2 girls I've seen the most have had the best playlists. Both like 90's music, one is more in to grungy stuff, the other is all over the place, but I like it all. I saw one girl that was listening to the most obnoxious modern "oh baby" pop music when I walked in and I thought to myself I will never get it up with this playing, but fortunately she killed it and turned on the tv for some background noise. Normally I'm not a fan of having a TV on, but in this case it was a blessed relief.

My personal play list has everything from James Taylor to the Violent Fems, Mumford, Metallica, Dave Matthews, Counting Crows, AC/DC, Live, a plethora of 80s metal I'm to embarrassed to admit too, Ben Folds, Rodrigo and Gabriela and I could go on and on and on. I'm a songwriter/musician myself I can find something something to appreciate in just about anything that isn't manufactured by committee, which sadly includes most music being made today.

I don't really have a favorite gettin some song.

Nothing wrong with BF5 my friend.  I love the song 'Brick'  I can say I love 80's Metal/Rock I also love pop and R&B.  And *Gasp!*  I even like country.  lol.  Not much I dont like.  Im not totally into really old bluegrass, but theres even a handful of those I can listen to and enjoy.
