I completely trust my ATF and she knows me so well that I have no doubt she'd make sure I was in good hands if she sent in a pinch-hitter. I might have to try this.
Or better yet, blindfold & handcuff myself before the date, open the door to the room (which could be tricky), let the unknown lady slowly tease me and please me without any words being spoken and see if I can guess who's taking me to the promised land!
A number of recent threads (Misty’s “Addicted to the Chase”, Pooterboy’s question about providers not showing faces on their websites, and MrSelfDestruct’s about pre-meeting interviews), plus Sedona’s excellent post on the ‘element of surprise’ made me think about something I would really enjoy doing.
Fellows, would you enjoy this scenario? You call your favorite provider (someone you trust and who trusts you as well) and set a date and time. She either takes the date herself or she gives it to a friend (if she is already booked or will be out of town that day.) She doesn’t tell you which choice she made, so you don’t know who you are going to see until you open your hotel room door.
So you either get that incredibly warm feeling of a seeing a familiar lover, or that highly charged rush of discovering someone new, but with an added edge created by the that fact that you don’t know which it will be until the last moment.
That's easy. Call any number of agencies that are known to be bait and switch. They would be more than happy to accomodate your desire for the element of surprise.
So I suppose my answer has to be no, I wouldn't like that.
I think I missed most of the threads you refer to but, personally, I love the element of surprise. I love it for gifts, for outings, for special times and especially for lovers.
The anticipation of that moment of setting eyes on my next lover for the first time and the thoughts of what I want to do and what we may do racing though my head...it's hot!
As a varition to your suggestions, Rick, if you have guy friends on TER that you trust then how about letting them set you up with a date they found really sexy? It's risky but you could have the time of your life 
I know of ladies who've shown up for an appointment only to surprise her client by bringing another Provider! (extra donation optional - a 'true' surprise). How many of you have done that?
Also, how many guys have surprised the ladies with a similar surprise? Brought in the bellhop, business associate, etc? Or, surprised her with staging one of her fantasies she's told you about?
Clearly one of the best evenings of my life. Surprise can be very erotic. And two women who are truly into each other can get very turned on. Fortunately, I didn't get ignored and was an equal participant.
Best advice I can give for a successful three-way. Let a lady who really knows you and your tastes pick the second lady and surprise you.
The second type of three-way is more difficult. A couple of years ago I knew a lady who really liked the idea of being with two guys at once. Never could make it happen. All my friends in this hobby are extremely phobic about the idea. I think it is rare for a hetrosexual male to be comfortable with the idea of being naked around another male in a sexual situation. And then there is the whole male competitive thing to deal with.
I did do a three-way with another male way back in the 1980's. However, he was a very good friend (and not an American) and we had just spent the weekend at a training session for sexual surrogates. A friend of your ATF once told me that she asks the client to tape the room key behind the Do Not Disturb sign and hang it on the outside of the door.
There is an element of surprise that is very charming and sexy, much like a "first love." But there are some ladies for whom a repeat visit is just as exciting as the first time (and you ladies know who you are!!).
