Is there nothing sacred anymore?? I mean, isn't it a FEDERAL OFFENSE to tamper with one's mail??
Yet, if you've ever seen the hidden cameras showing how often Postal Workers open people's mail in hopes of stealing checks, cash, etc. - absolutely horrifying!
The dearest gentleman, whom I have not even met, emailed me for an address he could send a package to. Package. Box. Priority Mail.
I provided a PO Box and he told me about when to expect it. I went to the box on Saturday, only to find a Priority Mail box with a big 'punched' hole in the middle of the 'body' of the box. Punched hole. Like you would find if someone punched a hole with their fist. Yeah. Can you believe it? It's very clear what and how that hole got there. No doubt. No sirree.
So, I emailed him back to thank him, but felt I should tell him the bad news, and also outline what I did receive and thank him for it as well as he knew what was sent. Unfortunately, items were missing. No one should have this happen when we 'trust' the US Mail, and he certainly didn't deserve to have this happen.
Just went through the mail that I DID receive, and about 50% of the mail was not even mine - but belongs in the next PO Box.
Last year I was waiting for a check for $2700 to arrive and it never came. I was about to call the vendor when a neighbor kid came to my door with an envelope that was all wrinkled with coffee stains. Oh, we got this in our mail about two weeks ago..sorry. At least they GAVE to me, but how many people just throw away - not mine! How many people wouldn't put back in the mailbox with a note for the brainless mail carrier who put in the wrong place to begin with?? No, too much trouble - easier to throw away! Isn't that a Federal offense??
And THEY 'go Postal'??
i used to get my paycheck in the mail every 2 wks from a temp agency for a summer job about 10 yrs ago. they lost the check 3 times. i had an important ltr that was never received last yr.

Bummer! I'm really sorry this happened to you. I've had it happen to me. I mailed myself cash one time, hidden in a card, and I never received it. There are some crooks in the post office! I warn people all the time about sending money through the mail. I have found that a good overnight delivery service works just fine (NOT Express Mail through the post office, though!).
How many more hours till you're back in the saddle? It's so good to know you're all better!
My Dr. appt is on the 24th and I get the 'permissions' for 'all things'. Can't wait.
So, I booked an incall location for later to make up for lost time!

When you send something by a USPS service that requires a
signature (registered, certified, etc), for something like $5.00
MORE it's supposed to signed for only by the named addressee.
Right. So your Registered letter with the divorce petition in it,
addressed to Becky Nicebutt, is signed for by Freddy Lipshitz, making the mailing totally useless to you, and you can't even get a refund on the extra fee, much less the regular postage.
only $.37 a for a first class letter.
