for Valentine's Day ... Champagne, cookies and Cookie!

After 35 years I don't have to buy shit I don't need. Although this hobby is expensive its nice to be reminded of the payback. NO. jewelry,  flowers,  trips, and a long list of shit I no longer have to buy.

I've always been single.

However,

I do have a fond memory of my father bringing me and my mother Valentine's day gifts. Best Valentine's day to date.

Some girls have flavors of the month. Others flavors of the week.

Octavia has flavors of the minute.  :-)

The gals seem to like them (Especially if I act on their hints.)
I just wish I could afford to buy more.

still have the kids, nieces, friends and so on to enjoy the occasion with. Hallmark Holiday or not, it is nice to simply let those you care about know that you care.

I would say it shows that you care even more to do it randomly rather when it is more expected.  You can also let those that you care about know that you care without spending money (except gas in the car to see them).

Gifts are nice....

If you love someone you don't need an ad blitz to remind you.

Exactly!
Another year of buying chocolates to make her fat, roses that are ridiculously overpriced because of the season and jewelry that she won't wear, just throw in the box.  But if you don't do it you are in the doghouse.  Another price of being married (and you still have to see providers to get regular sex)

It is just as stupid as the other greeting card holidays as you said.  I never get a girlfriend anything for valentine's day.  I explain why and if she doesn't like it then they can go find someone else who is a better match for her.  I would rather do things when they are not overpriced and hence can do more for my girlfriend.

Getting married is a mistake I will never make.  Having a live-in girlfriend was a big enough mistake for me.  People change (including myself) and when those changes happen for the worse typically the breadwinner gets screwed since hes still expected to provide with nothing in return

I love romance and chocolate and love hearts! I love gifts- both giving and receiving. I love my lovers, I love affection and caressing, I love snuggling in the afterglow of a wild bout of sex. It's a fun time to go overboard on mushy things. Poetry is also nice.

When I was traveling the world, I sometimes found that some of my lovers would get very confused: I proclaimed that I was not interested in relationships, but at the same time I was always very affectionate, loved to hold hands, cuddle, and gaze into their eyes. It's all part of the beautiful fullness of the sexual experience for me. Sex without connection is two-dimensional to me, and about as much fun as a vibrator (which, of course, can be fun, but non-responsive). Valentine's Day is a perfect excuse to indulge in all the trappings of romance while remaining true to my insatiable desire for variety. The perfect occasion for group sex, if you think about it!!

Would you go to a meet and greet on Valentine's Day?

There's only been one Valentines' Day where I had someone. The year was 1997. I was 12. She was 14. Her name was [Redacted] and she went to my church. I got her some chocolate and a Sugar Ray CD. She got me chocolate. She ended up breaking up with me a couple weeks later and I believe her family moved to West Virginia by the end of the year. She's a single mother now back in Maryland and still churchbound while I'm now an atheist posting on this board.
