If there was a Charlotte only board...

The Carolinas should be a smaller board?

North & South Carolina should be split up into sections. Bigger towns get their own and the smaller ones get the state board, maybe?

If nothing else than at least don't group the TWO ENTIRE STATES together.

That might help a little bit. How can we make this happen?

Combined, this board is dead half of the time. That would create two dead boards out of one mediocre board. Getting broken down into towns will never happen.

BTW, you look hot  ;)  Care to join my pride?

Let's go hunting. I could kill a gazelle or two.

Kill what you want, eat what you kill.
That much food would keep us "shacked up" for a few days  ;)

a few years ago when TER decided to split up some boards-- and it totally backfired. I was in FL then, and they split that up into two boards. Both suffered mightily, and Admin reversed the decision pretty quickly.

If you look at the activity on this board, it's rather thin. The same posts will stay a week or more on the first page. That tells you that the participation is sparse, and it would be even sparser if we were split into NC and SC.

I see you're new to TER, so you couldn't know its history... but sadly, that idea has been tried.

into larger groupings.  In some cases it only makes sense -- why is there both a Maryland and DC board?  Or an LA and OC board?  Or New England and Boston?  It's crazy.  Have you ever tried to tour those areas?  Figuring out which board to advertise on is frustrating, inevitably I would advertise on all of them, which is also just ridiculous.

I understand breaking up California (other than OC and LA) and Texas, but other than those, nope

For example the Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin board should be combined into one Mid-West board. The IN and MI boards have threads from March on the front page, and the WI and OH boards still have postings from early June on the front page. This would hopefully give them all more activity, which should make for a better board.

I would however disagree with you about the DC and MD boards being combined. Perhaps the MD board should be renamed to Baltimore, but both boards are very active and have a very good amount of participation

I remember when Md was part of the DC Board I liked it better that way. IMO there was never a reason to add the Md Board and making it a Baltimore board would help the situation at all.

Sadly there are many boards that are barely utilized. I am personally a very big fan of the boards and feel they are a very big asset. Almost everyone I have seen recently (minus a few BP quickies), was because I really like something’s they had posted on the board and thought we would hit it off, or because they liked something I posted on the board and sent me a PM saying they thought we would get along.

I am fortunate to be based in the DC area, where the board is fairly active, but have attempted to participate in some other boards where I travel, but have not had much success in generating any real back and forth or generating any traction for a meaningful thread.

The boards are great, but they have to utilize by a large audience to be any good.

If this board became one of the most active boards on TER, then you would have a case for getting it split, but until then, just be happy that you have a board and some people participate

more of the ad boards being split up than this one since barely anyone cares about it.

But if the ad boards were split, that would seem to /me/ at least that posting there wouldn't seem like such a waste of time since it'll just get lost in an instant

To quote an old tee shirt "When I work, I work hard: When I rest, I rest easy: When I think, I go to sleep!" So i don't think much.     But seriously it is worse for the customer, but much better for you. There just are not that many people active here inn a given week, and as long as you put location in your ad, you get more bang for your buck, and vice versa. Best to you BC and keep on smiling!!

I shoulda said the ad boards. There's just so many providers spread across 2 states posting there that if I were a hobbyist I wouldn't take the time to look through the jumbled mess hoping to see someone from little old Wilmington.

But I know that's not the case, according to Alice.

I tend to look at things from my own little world. If I play I have to go somewhere. Being both cursed and blessed to be within about 75 miles of more than half of the population of NC, but no one travels close to me. Just my thoughts but maybe targeted advertising to entice gents to drive the few miles to Wilmington may help. Just make sure I know you are in NC and not Maryland, lol.

The Carolina ad board is far from swamped. Most of them are from ladies who have been here for a while, so it's easy to spot the new ones. Just make sure the city you're servicing at the time you place the ad is in the headline.

This is good advice. Whether you are in your home town or playing an away game , indicate in your ad where you are. If you are in a big place like Raleigh or Charlotte, indicate what part of town.  If guys aren't familiar with the city names, they can get on Google maps. But I've seen more reviews than I can count where a guy was  late because, e.g.,  he made plans based on driving to Charlotte but she was up in Mooresville, or down in Pineville, or over in Matthews, and those can be more than an hour apart from each other in 5:30 traffic.

I agree with you on this.
Jacksonville, FL is HUGE. It never fails that someone at the beach or the southside of town wants to come see me.  That's a 45+ min drive depending on time of day.  It doesn't take much to give a general location at home or away... especially if you're in a cluster of hotels.

And I ain't just saying that to get inside your panties, either.

Ok, maybe a little.

Hi Bella, couple of weeks ago, I was looking at your profile for a potential session but couldn't schedule as I don't have any references and wanted to stay discrete.

I just learned that your mother is sick and you are moving to help her. I can relate to that and wanted to pass on my best wishes for speedy recovery.  I sincerely wish you will have many wonderful memories with family in the years ahead.

Regards,

I don't recognize your alias so I don't know if I've seen you yet but I certainly appreciate the compliment!

I sometimes forget to put "wilmy" in my ad title like an idiot...
Really does me a lot of good.
