But yours is the best solution I think I have seen so far. I actually love your scale and it would be quite useful for women of all races and nationality. I personally seem to favor women on the 3-7 range of your scale which means everything from lighter skinned black women, most Latinas, most Asians, and most "non pasty" white women.

1. Is it just me or should Skin Tone be described on Provider Ads? I'm Middle Eastern, but my clients all take me as being "white" due to my skin tone. I'm sure I'm not the only one (my lighter or darker hispanics, lighter ebonies) that goes through this right? Maybe a good idea?

2. -Plot Twist-  Someone walks outside while TeR is taking the Captcga picture. (LOL)

3. I like to buy things that also benefit others. Such as the world edition MK watch that fed hungry people around the world. Or the pink polo pin I got for breast cancer. These things make me happy :-)

Well, have a great night guys :-* :-* or morning, lol.

On a provider's TER profile, her ethnicity is stated.

I know I was referring mainly to ones skin tone.

My ethnicity is Middle Eastern, but I myself appear to be white

The problem has come up many times before, even recently on Suggestion and Policy:

Brittney: You appear to be Vanilla or Peach in your pictures. Do you agree? What is your Mattel color?

2. -Plot Twist-  Someone walks outside while TeR is taking the Captcga picture. (LOL)
I have no idea what that means.

It's a bigger benefit to buy the bargain brand and make a direct donation to the charity of your choice. I'll try to find the numbers about the tiny fraction of the purchase price that actually goes to the designated charity. If you want to donate to Oxfam, send them cash (Paypal, whatever). If you want to fund women's health research, donate directly to the highly rated foundations. And you'll get the tax deduction, too!

Definitely peach. I have red undertones, though when I apply make up, I Go vanilla. I like my light skin. Its different for my ethnic group, and makes me unique.

The captchas when you need to post a thread are house numbers more off than not, lol.

Good idea. I'll look into charities I personally relate to, such as the celiac disease foundation or PTSD research :)

There really is no such thing as race, and ethnicity assumes all are alike.  Why not just drop it and let the pictures talk

All the data in TER profiles is text, no pictures (gif, jpg, png). All of the material on the TER servers for the boards is text; no picture files ON THE TER SERVERS, just links to other people's servers (imagecoast, etc.).

I really doubt that TER is going to add storage or bandwidth to handle all of the needed image files to make TER a standalone entity. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

So how to convey skin tone in Profiles or text?  Add some kind of color wheel or slider or number / name code with something like the Mattel Skin Tones chart locked to the Submit a Review form. (Or the color wheel that you have on your computer control panels ... except that some joker will try to select forest green or purple as a skin color. Let's limit it to the most common skin tones only.)

She can be a real peach of a person but Hazelnut in tone.
She can act like a coconut but be dark like Espresso.
Her name might be Cinnamon but her skin color could be Vanilla.
She's my Honey colored honey named Honey.

Or we can do it old school, like they use to do in the good Ol days, you're darker than a paper bag or not.

"Old school' where it comes to skin color, pretty much comes down to "black or white" there wasn't a lot of nuance in those "good Ol days"

Oh good, I was afraid my sarcasm might have gone over your head ...

Whichever it is, try sending in a problem report and get it changed to that.

It's worth a try

1- Casper (lol)
2- Vanilla
3- Peachy
4- Tan
5- Olive
6- Caramel
7- Mocha
8- Chocolate
9- Dark Chocolate
10- Midnight (lol)

I had a buddy (white guy) quite a bit older than me who used to run with a black guy who was his best friend in Cleveland back in the 60's. All his white friends used to give him crap for "dragging that piece of coal around with him"

Ah the "good Ol days" as Redneck Drew likes to call them.

Somewhere in that scale, maybe in place of Casper or Vanilla, I'd love to see "PWG" (Pasty White Girl) or I suppose "Porcelain" might be nicer way to put it though.

The submission form needs to have one static COLOR image (like the Mattel chart) with names and/or numbers.  Otherwise: "She's kind of tan." "Not to me, she's more mocha." "Mocha? She's my kind of chocolate!" You will not get reviewers to agree what colors the words mean unless attached to a color chart.

And a small color chart should be part of Profile display template to readers know what the tone descriptor actually refers to

Why does Areola & Lips sound like a fancy menu item at an overpriced restaurant?

Add:  Old Person

(their faces when surprised or confused, seriously. & when I say old I mean like 70-80)

When you post a new thread you must fill out a captcha.

This is usually a house or building number. So assume someone walks out if there out while some creep is super zoomed in with a camera outside LOL

Change your TER ethnicity to Middle Eastern, and mention it in your ads.

.... almost 2 shades darker than usual in the high of summer (MAC girls will know this.....NW43 with pinch of NC45 usually and straight up NW45 in the summer lol).

So......yeah.
