TER General Board

So do we have that convo before or after screening?

I guess you missed the paranoia that is rampant in this game.

I don't believe the OP was suggesting a nice chit chat with a gal he's known for years.  Nope, he was discussing about asking for STD results prior to anything else happening.

You might want to go back to the JackDunphy school for Hookers 101.  You may have missed the class on discretion.

with someone asking me an adult question, considering the adult activities that we are engaging in.

It is a conversation I have had several times, not that anyone has asked for 'proof'. I think that most people who ask just want to know that you are thinking about it, and keeping safe. I personally don't mind that conversation at all, because that lets me know that they are probably taking reasonable precautions, and keeping themselves healthy.

Now if someone came off accusatory, or acted like P7, then I would be offended. A healthy, conscious, adult conversation though, never.

Many hobbyist believe that agency girls are safer than independent  because they make then go for monthly check ups while we don't know how often the independents girls do,this  is a good opportunity for all the independent girls on TER to speak up and say the opposite. How often independent girls go for regular check ups?

YOU!  Am a hobbyist.........NOT a provider..........how often do YOU go for "check-ups?"

Maybe you are a carrier and are spreading something..............instead of always leaving our safety up to someone else.........maybe you should NOT be so quick to ask providers.........maybe YOU should be asked that question.

Ok,How often does hobbyist go for regular check ups?

Every 3 months, at minimum

I believe it or not go every time I see two or three providers, there is your answer, how about you?

You do NOT speak for "many hobbyists" when you say we believe agency gals are "safer" than independents. Express your own opinion, fine; but please do not attempt to speak for anyone else.

I agree with Elaina... the way you phrase your "question" is an insinuation that sex workers in general and independents in particular are somehow unclean and infection-riddled individuals. It is creepy.

Just about every week, SOMEONE (usually a poorly informed newbie) panics at the thought of contracting an STD. The boards are filled with posts asking about risks, safety, testing, etc... If you use the Search function here and on the Newbie board, you will find a lot of information. I'll summarize a bit for you here:

1. Sex is not risk-free: every sexual encounter contains risk. Doesn't matter is it is in a (supposedly) monogamous relationship, a chance hookup at a bar or club, or with a provider.

2. There are a few vaccines (HAV, HBV, HPV) that protect against certain STDs. Get them.

3. Monogamy and condoms are the only other things that protect against STD transmission directly. Use condoms, choose monogamy as you will.

4. No amount of testing or checkups prevent STDs. They only detect them and allow for treatment sooner. The minute you test and have sex with someone else, the test is meaningless.

5. There are no studies that prove that STD prevalence is higher in sex workers and their clients than in the general population. There are CERTAINLY no studies that would claim agency sex workers are "cleaner" than independent providers.

6. Many studies demonstrate that risk awareness and prevention (use of condoms) is the single indicator of lower STD risks in the population at large. In general, sex workers and clients are more knowledgeable and aware of risks and take precautions - and (anecdotally) may present lower risks than those random bar hookups.

7. You are responsible for your own behaviors and risk taking. Not a provider or some other client. Stop trying to pass the buck.

If you want risk-free sex, you better learn to abstain. No one can provide that for you

*It will detect a long-standing and recurrent infection. I'd personally prefer not to engage w/someone who knowingly hobbies w/herpes or HIV*

5. There are no studies that prove that STD prevalence is higher in sex workers and their clients than in the general population. There are CERTAINLY no studies that would claim agency sex workers are "cleaner" than independent providers.

*Studies claiming that sex workers ARE cleaner do exist, but they are based upon legal sex workers, who 1) Customarily engage in less risky activities, and 2) Are required by law to test clean to work. Those studies do not apply to the underground world of internet escorts, which is, statistically, a huge question mark.

6.  In general, sex workers and clients are more knowledgeable and aware of risks and take precautions - and (anecdotally) may present lower risks than those random bar hookups.

*I can cite many providers/instances which completely blow that statement to shreds*

I completely agree with premise #7

e all have choices to make, and I think it's fair game for anyone engaging in sex with anyone else, for any reason and any context, to ask that question of the person they are hopping in the sack with.

I also think it's perfectly fair game to decide not to answer that question. :-) Or to not be happy with the response (or non-response) you might get.

But either way, I think it's fine to ask. And fine to proceed accordingly and to make decisions about your own health. Regardless of whether it's transactional or just for fun. And regardless if you're the male or the female.

It is only a legitimate question if you ask the specific person you're hopping in the sack with. The OP will not gain any useful information by asking on the general board, as there is no standard for testing among indies or agencies.

But, the assumption that agency girls get tested more frequently than independents is extremely baseless and naive.

Personally, I agree with your sentiments. While nothing comes w/a guarantee, mutual disclosure would at least screen out those who knowingly hobby while positive for something potentially harmful (herpes or worse)

I would rather see either relative to a civie.

Assuming there is not a needle in her arm and she is on her way from an audition for Bang Bros "BBFS Milfs #10" They wanted her because she was so great in #1-9.

Again,  Well reviewed is the safest route you can take other than warm baby oil and surgical gloves. Or getting married to my Ex which provides you with someone pretty to go places with but no sex at all unless of course you purchase the afore mentioned baby oil.

Only those ladies who work in legal brothels in Nevada have testing requirements. Those tests are mandated by the state, not the brothels themselves.

Outside of legal brothels, your only assurance of a woman's status is the fact that her reputation and income depend on keeping herself healthy.

many of them, in fact. I never got asked anything beyond 'How much you weigh' and 'when can you start?'

OK, well, sometimes 'Can you work late nights?'

Some were high volume/mid-range agencies of the type that seem to proliferate on TER. Others were UTR with very high rates. Others were just basically one old-school madam trying to find girls for her former clients and any referrals they might throw her way...

Never once did anybody mention testing, or even ask a roundabout question about my health.

Discussing health is not a norm in this industry, which I actually think is a bit unfortunate.

I think that the bigger agencies (the ones more visible to LE) would actually shy away from asking about testing. Generally, when I signed onto an agency, I agreed to work for them as an independent contractor. I was paid for my time. Anything that happened during that time...well, you know the rest. Thus, the agency could deny any knowledge or complicity in our p4p acts... meaning that, if we were ever plucked up by LE, we were on our own...

If any agency required test results, then it would be obvious that sex was for sale....not only that, but there would likely be a VERY incriminating paper or email trail.
