There are a number of professional photographers available for providers to hire to get photos for their advertising purposes... Aldo Antonio, ClickStudio, Santillo, Scott Church etc. etc.

I was wondering if providers ever seek out quality photographers (with proven track records) for a trade of services, i.e. photo session for provider session.

I know there are plenty of delusional guys with cameras constantly hounding providers claiming their garbage images are worth a free session... But I was wondering if some providers are open to an exchange with a professional photographer with the experience photographing boudoir, lingerie, pin-up and fitness along with the portfolio and model references to back it up.

While some providers are willing to spend for a high end photographer, there are still many utilizing subpar images made by unskilled shooters who know nothing about lighting and perspective.  One particular photographer (apparently popular as I see more and more providers using him), has horrible skills and goes overboard on the photoshop.  I cringe every time I think a provider actually paid for that.

Ladies, what say you? Are you open to the idea of services exchange?  What would your parameters be?

And guys... please, I'm not seeking your opinions so feel free to refrain from responding.

That could also apply to mechanics, handymen, lawyers, doctors, plumbers, landscapers, priests, etc.  You don't go to a doctor and say "Check my prostate and I'll fix your car". Cash for services goes both ways.

By the way, you can't ask people not to have an opinion. If you post, you'll get responses... from everyone! Deal with it.

that arrogant, or did you have to go to college ?

sincerely,

Delusional Guy With Camera

I want cash for sex/time/companionship/whatever. I will pay a photographer with cash.

First off, I prefer to keep boundaries well defined. As some-guy said, there may be a conflict of interest that could present its self.
Secondly I adore my photographer! She is incredible, and makes me feel perfectly at ease. I don't think I could feel nearly as comfortable in a trade situation, which would likely lead to less quality product.

I would not consider having a client take my photos even if his background is photography and trade services for the shoot.
I know people do it.Just not my thing.
I have no issue with spending money for my photo shoots with professional photographers and I pay them for their time and my photos.Lately I have been working with female photographers a nice perspective a different eye than a male photographer.
A client and he has access to all of my photos..no sir that is not going to work for me ever!
I can see so many ways that can go wrong.

Bwahaha!

So what do you want to know? If a lady will barter with you for photos? Are you a pro photographer or "some guy with a camera?" Of course some ladies barter services and many don't. Some barter for Botox injections, legal services, accounting, home maintenance, auto repair etc. Some won't barter for anything. They get paid for their services, and they pay for services they need. Why ask on a public board? Ask the individual. By the way, TER does not allow barter related posts. This one is ok as a general topic, but if you actually offer a barter in an ad or ISO, your post will be deleted.

ps. Some of us actually prefer the amateur photos of providers vs the Aldo's and Scott church's.

provider's hour fee and photographer's hour fee? Exchange happens when two items have the same value. I know that pehaps many of you say that it is not my business to evaluate how skillful photographer is and that "art value" is very specific and abstract. Some paintings cost big bucks and some may ponder why this costs so much. I have no clue why famous "black square" by Malevich costs that much. For me, it has no value at all. I can go on and on, but to put it simple - how many starved providers you know and how many starved photographers you know. I bet that photographers are in worse condition and that's why provider's hour cost is more valuable than a photographer's. Unless you are famous, handsome and with lots of lots of charm :) Or you may get just lucky :)

Trading services for pictures is never a good idea pay for your images and you get what you want. I also hate overly photoshopped images. On another note watermark your pictures ladies I just spotted a fake on a google image search of me apparently locking the right click option isn't enough with screenshot :(

I don't mean "one of the worst" I mean the VERY worst reputation in the entire business for photo shopping of any photographer in the business.

I will take you at your word that your pics are not photo shopped, but there are many, many mongers who upon seeing an Aldo pic will just assume it's been photo shopped.

Good to know I didnt know that but I specifically requested him to do as minimal shopping lol :)

(1) the premise seems kinda pervy... let me take nude pictures of you for free and then you screw me for free... yeah i dont' think so.

as others have pointed out, very few photographers earn per hour what providers do.  i've gotten headshots done many times over the years, and only the total package, time in studio plus contact sheet to pick shots plus developing and air brushing of selected shots, would come close to equal one hour of the median provider rate here in los angeles.

so imo if a lady took you up on your offer, you'd have to have a photo session with her, print up a contact sheet (or digital cd of the shots) for her to peruse, let her pick out 3 or 4 shots, then you'd have to print those shots (this takes what, a week maybe with real life intervening for both of you?), and only then, would she give you an hour of her time.

unless you want a half hour up front as a deposit, and the second half hour upon delivery.

no, it's too complicated and too unworth the lady's time.

and the second thing i have to say about this is:

(2) we're not seeking your arrogance on this board, so feel free to refrain from posting another thing again, if you insist on demanding who participates in the discussion.

I've absolutely bartered services with a client of mine who ended up being a really well-known, talented photographer. I even barter services with clients of mine who are tattoo artists, pot dealers etc etc.

I've been asked by providers if I would consider trading for services and my response has always been "No, but my rates are very competitive"  or something similar to that.

Many providers mentioned that no matter how good of a photographer one is, once there is a reputation that they trade for services, that sort of tends to follow them.

I'm not judging anyone who finds value in these types of trades, but I would rather keep things on a professional level so that no one feels like they've been taken advantage of which seems to happen every once in a while, so I've read.

But there are ladies out there who would consider trading service for service - I'm not sure how you would go about negotiating that and not offend those you've contacted who don't

1. Me offering to fuck a photographer for free does not pay that person's bills. Truly great photography skills are something someone invests in. It's also a job that gets massively devalued. I know how that feels and I'd never do that to another person who's work struck me enough to ask for their services.

2. It's tacky.

3. if I wanted photos with no thought put into them done by someone with little talent, it's cheaper and less degrading to pay those people than to fuck them.

I take my marketing seriously enough to pay for quality photos that represent me accurately. If I wanted free photos, I'd post selfies.
