I won't work at all for a same day meeting

No idea why.. One provider I have never seen, but did schedule once keeps testing me saying that today and for the next 5 hours she will be in such and such a place.. She will only schedule same day appointments.. I can't drop whatever I am doing and take off to drive some where.. I just don't work that way.. She says she does it because of NCNS..

I was reading a thread on a regional board, and it made me wonder...

Are there more "no-shows" (all varieties) from appointments scheduled in advance, or those scheduled same day?

Seriously... gals always seem to look for advance scheduling of dates. Does that result in more or less no shows (cancellations, NCNS, etc..) by guys than same day appointments?

Guys... do you get more cancellation/no-shows when you schedule in advance or when you schedule day of?

A serious question. I'd like to have a sense of whether the odds of having a successful liaison are really enhanced by scheduling in advance, or whether we actually connect more reliably when we agree to meet same day

but out of necessity, most of my dates are scheduled pretty far in advance. A week +, because I do have another life, and I do not not live in Chicago. Usually with same day apt, I just can't physically get where I would need to be in time.

I haven't had anyone cancel with less than a few days notice. I find that when I schedule out in advance, there is a lot more communication back and forth. I think when that happens, both parties are more engaged and invested in making sure the date happens as planned.

I'm not sure what that says for the odds, but scheduling in advance has worked well for me thus far.

...as much as two weeks out. I've never had a NCNS. That's five and a half years without a ncns. I have had a cancellations but never without plenty of notice. All but one was able to be rescheduled.

rather than the amount of advance scheduling is most important.  There are some women in this business who treat it as a business and would keep an appointment regardless - and I know quite a few of them.  They would think of breaking an appointment as being unethical and, just as importantly,  bad for business...

However, others (especially younger ones) are a bit more flexible.  If some guy calls you with a $1,000 offer - it might trump that $300 guy especially if the rent is due....... I have called at the last minute and gotten someone else bumped..... though I think she called the guy and rescheduled him before she called me back.  Or at least that's what she told me...

I have gotten bumped for a guy who took her to the Bahamas for the weekend;  I didn't hold that against her.  Rescheduled, wished her good luck and told her to take some pictures for me.  She did....

If you want a provider's priority and attention - give them money.  That ain't exactly much of a secret

Out of 17 dates with providers.
0 No shows
1 Reschedule   Independent
1 Swap Reschedule provider- Agency
2 Swaps Provider- Agency

With all the problems I had the Agency's found a provider who was equal if not better for me.  Some were  even better so I was happy.
The Independent changed the travel date and since it was scheduled in advanced I was Happy.

The changes were made for real reasons and problems not to just get a favorite client or more money.    Provider's are a business and don't like to lose business , money ,and customers that don't come back

Scheduling in advance with a provider who normally reacts on short notice might be a recipe for disappoinment. Hard to know in advance unless it's someone you've seen before. If you've seen them before, you represent a potential regular, which is one element of Unicorn status. Providers who go out of their way to request advanced booking tend to be the ones who take their schedule seriously, and are less likely to leave you hanging.

I've never been disappointed by a "schedule ahead" provider, and my only NCNS was with a "when do you want to see me" type. There've been other disappointments in my relatively brief hobby career, which have led me to the conclusion that a provider's P411 membership is the first factor I use in deciding to see them.

Very good point in your first paragraph. I learned the hard way that not all providers value or appreciate pre-booking. Some providers are simply more accustomed to short notice appointments and clients that pre-book may only be viewed as potential cancellations. I suppose the mentality that a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush can be one way to guide business, but I prefer providers that prefer pre-booking because they tend to understand the value of pre-session communication to develop rapport.

I have had very few cancellations, and even the rare ones I have usually come with notice.

My schedule also requires me to plan in advance (I've only managed to be able to make a same day request 2x now in >6 mos.), and I think most people who show interest in me respect that and take my time as seriously as I do theirs.

Like someone else mentioned, I suspect if one has an abundance of no-shows or last minute cancellations, that may have more to do with the type of person you're booking (or attracting on the ladies' end).

work out for me!

That said, I would agree with your theory that if one is booking a date
the same day, they are less likely to cancel or no show

been doing this via computer.  That's not bad as a percentage.  Since I always schedule a week or more in advance, I can't testify as to same day appointments.

Before the internet, I'd go to MPs, or call just an hour ahead from a personal ad, and don't recall any NCNSs from that.  And that spanned about 20+ years
