I have always thought that real estate brokerage or commercial sales rep would be a good fit - but so far I haven't run into that. My observation is that the providers are generally too honest for that line of work. That said - these particular women do treat providing as a business - more of a second job than a hobby.... I have no idea just how common that is since my sample is not statistically significant... but it certainly is not rare. As I understand it, they're essentially providers who have main stream jobs, but supplement their income with some evening free lancing. Just curious if this part-time approach is something that happens here in the US.
They are known by many terms, like "part timers" or "semi pros" either way there are many women in many countries who "hook" on a part time basis. A lot of them are just horny young women who were going to go out and get laid anyhow who have discovered they can get paid for something they were going to do for free.
So my grandmother made her extra money by keeping the chicken coop and selling eggs. I guess we should be grateful that most urban zoning ordinances prohibit chicken coops.
Many ladies working civie jobs in LA or other areas would come to LV ( particularly on weekends ) and hook in bars & casino's. This was of course pre internet days .

I met quite a few part-timers in Beijing a dozen or so years ago. Most were real professionals in terms of education and employment but ones in lower-paid professions (e.g., nurses or film-makers). They would visit bars and restaurants in areas where foreigners were allowed to stay. Many of the women were as interested in talking and practicing English as getting money for sex, particularly the ones with better English or better educational backgrounds. In addition to having great sex with near-amateurs, they were fun to talk to.
I don't know if this is still an easy option in Beijing these days, but my guess is that it is available.
I haven't been to Beijing in a couple of years, but on my last visit it was not nearly as easy as it was 10-20 ago. Places like Maggie's remained the same as always, but the part-timers that you mentioned were not to be seen in the places they had frequented in the past. Though, I must admit that I did happen upon a lovely amateur (nursing student) in the lobby bar of the Grand Hyatt. While the government has been clamping down on Karaoke bars all over the country, in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan (especially Houjie), and obviously Hong Kong you will see pros and amateurs as always. For me Shanghai was always a bit more difficult than the other large cities.
I don't know if this is still an easy option in Beijing these days, but my guess is that it is available.

There's a really hot touring provider I think does it as a second job for extra income. She has a calendar that's laid out a month in advance, showing where she's going to be. The locations just seem wrong for a full-timer: Dubuque, Iowa; Jackson, Mississippi, Wausau, Wisconsin. They're not cities that any provider would consider for a tour.
But, if she's going to these cities for her regular job, then it makes sense to bring in some extra cash at night
there was a lady recently in the la top 10 who was a real estate broker for her main job and provided on the side (r whatever position you wanted lol). she was great and very nice. i don't know how good a broker she was though.
There are all kinds of providers who provide in addition to their day jobs. Can you blame an attractive lady with skills for making "bank" on her assets?
I've met everything from soccer moms, to an accountant, to a Science, PhD student who was working in the field of cancer research. I like the diversity and think it is a nice change from the "cam models", "exotic dancers", and "porn stars" that the media usually portray providers as.
Only on weekends or only on Tues and Thursdays? All indicators that she probably has another job to attend to.

I've always thought that the number of providers who are full-time providers and do nothing else would be quite small.
Between studying, working in full, or part, time jobs, looking after children, or even parents, or any number of jobs I would expect there are very few providers who would have the time to work full time, even if they wanted to.
Of course, except in very few exceptions we're unlikely to know. As clients we'll be told just as much as the provider feels comfortable to tell so we may get to know little or nothing of their lives outside of the 'hobby
I always find it "amusing" when a client or hobbist assumes most providers are just sitting at the computer or by the phone in their hotel, waiting for the hooker bat signal to go off.
For the most part, consider escorts to be more like the clients, most all have lives, famliys or jobs outside of providing.
there are of course a small percentage of providers that do this as a sole source of income, but in all honesty often that is short lived, as the lifestyle can become pretty isolating. Its good to have even a crummy job that gets you on a schedule and "out there" in society. Some providers even have used the hobby to invest more strongly in careers..everyone is different and is in this for different reasons just like you
And not all of us need to work after 5. I do not see anyone after 4 pm. I am lucky to be able to set my own hours and therefore can fit in a client or three per week.

same for RNs - I've seen 3 nurses, had one actually help collect a sperm sample for me
