If you cannot even wear wedge, then I'd go with a low kitten heel.  Like a mule or slide.  I've had pairs with a 1.5in or lower heel, but I'm not finding any cute ones to show you right now.  

You can go retro and sport some marabou feathered boudoir slippers!    

If you need flat-flats, I'd look for a patent leather sandal, or perhaps one with metal/coin embellishments?

I'm sure you can think of something. I love the Uggs idea that Drew gave you. If not don't wear anything and tell them that you are injured any man worth seeing would understand

I know it's fall now but maybe some like that will work until that old running injury gets better! Or a cute pair of sneakers or some  low heeled boots.
