so what qualifies one to be a "mentor" to new ladies/gals in this profession?

Education is nothing but paper trust me, age is just a number, travel is an experience. What makes you IMHO a mentor or qualifies you to be a mentor are the difficulties and the hardships of life. The "wow, I made it and didn't kill myself" moments. The wisdom, the hard times in life and the outcome of who you became after you seen the darkness if you become a better person than you qualify to be a mentor.
The girls I mentor aren't aspiring anything but I want them to be. Money leaves man, it's not that long lasting. Everything loses it's luster after a while. I went to Ivy league school with dyslexia why can't you? I became a teacher why can't you? I became a Vet Tech? Why can't you? I found love why can't you?
I started out in the back of a car and lets keep it at that. Traumatized beyond belief by clients, by supposedly friends and captains of industry, fyi when I first got into this I was not under the impression I would be a provider. The ad didn't even specify it was something a sexual nature.
These girls want to cry after a guy calls them ugly okay try telling your boss you won't do a call (at the time) because he told you it was one guy and it ended up being 3 guys in a tiny room for a donation of $75 or so, or being beaten by a client, that's what makes you a mentor you survived life and not just the pretty side, the ugly side the hurtful side. That is a mentor someone that is still a good person regardless of their experiences, someone that sees the light at the end of the tunnel, someone who life hasn't made them bitter. Someone who has the ability to love and nurture when they weren't.
Curious where you find these gals and do you let them stay with you?
I'm wondering if Roxanne ever asks her agency for any advice. They usually help gals out when they have questions like most of hers.
Hmmm it doesn't sound like a great situation to me though if she's talking about other ladies working for the same place. Hope everything is ok there.

agency owners tell you, you'll figure it out.Not all of them are sweet.
I think most providers should do their own thing once they learn the ropes.
Why have someone else take a cut unless the government is doing it for taxes. Lol
I know a lot of agency owners and some of them just contact me on TER for some strange reasons.
Age? Someone who is 50 and has been doing this for 2 months is less qualified than someone who is 22 and has been doing it for 4 years.
Travel? Only if you're mentoring about travel or different places.

age ...agree slightly...wisdom comes with age..
education...teach them how to taken and blend in public or be interesting and have thoughts and opinions....
travel and seeing and visiting foreign lands can teach empathy, cultural acceptance, patience
Kind of like being a "financial adviser" or "image consultant"
or a computer guru.....
by definition, that is someone that has owned a computer five minutes longer than you have....
1) Someone who spent a good amount of years in the industry, with enough insight that could make them a somewhat of an expert.
2) That mentor should also be successful in what she does; the guidance of a failure is not useful.
When I seek out mentors I look for someone with a lot of experience, who is financially successful, and is happy. They're all equally important to me.
Even a failure. In fact it is failure that is the best teacher. Now I am not saying taking the advice of someone who hasn't been successful in achieving your goals is wise, just there is lessons to be learned, and invaluable knowledge to be gained. If nothing else you can learn what not to do, and that often is as useful as anything.

I hit the mark for three of those four qualifications, but I am nowhere near ready to mentor anyone. Why?
Because I know enough to know that there is a LOT I still haven't figured out. From time to time, I still hear/read terms that I'd never known before. Plus, there are some things that seem to be popular right now, of which I have very little knowledge and zero experience.
And that's just the actual providing side of things!
This whole internet stuff is still a giant mystery to me in many ways. There are ladies who post here very frequently who have been a provider for a mere fraction of the time that I have, but they know WAY more about the computer/internet/social media ins-and-outs than I likely ever will.
Marketing? I don't think very many ladies have that "all figured out" no matter what they say. It's a constantly changing and evolving thing and unless you're a HDH who only takes a few dates per month, you probably don't have the TIME to really get a handle on that. Just because a provider advertises on literally every available ad site does not mean she's doing it the best way possible. I freely admit that I'm still working on the best strategies for myself. And likely always will be. 
So it's a combination of experience in the actual providing side of things, knowledge of the business aspects of bookkeeping, correspondence, taxes, etc and the how-to savvy of marketing, advertising, self-promotion and all things PR that "qualify" a provider to be an effective mentor.
So although I originally started in this biz in the pre-internet days, have been doing this on-and-off for about a decade's worth of providing time, and do love to give advice and provide whatever assistance I can to other ladies, I am NOT mentor material.
To be completely honest, I have sought out another provider to mentor ME.
