If you don't think that the financial crisis Obama will soon face is on par with the terrorism of 9/11 that Bush confronted, then OK, I can see how you would then be-little everything else that follows from his Presidency.

Next time I'll pick a easier subject just for you.

Thanks for trying anyway.

Are the Democrats going to blow THEIR OWN ‘9/11 moment’?

Very similar to President Bush and the Republicans, the Dems are beginning their control at a moment in history of great significance and crisis. The greatest criticism of Bush was that he didn’t properly seize the moment to unify the country and the world. That he then acted too unilaterally to impose actions and decisions contrary and even detrimental to our long term interests.

With Bush there was a very short period of apparent unification. We shall see how quickly and vigorously the minority begins sniping this time. But what of the Dems this time around? They will be in total control and will set the pace and agenda. Don’t misunderstand. The Dems won and they deserve their shot. There is a great opportunity right now to truly repair or ‘right the course’ of many things that have run amuck or are outdated, education and energy chief among them. Will they attempt real bipartisan reform or will they unilaterally plunge forward? Will they seek retribution for their perceived damages under Bush? How long will they gloat? What evidence do we have thus far to begin to answer these questions? How is the left ‘behaving’? The negativity is already happening.

It’s happening in pop culture e.g. last night I watched Bill Maher ruthlessly attack McCain and Palin so vigorously that even his left wing panel (Joe Queenan) tried to shut him up, telling him he was wrong. It’s happened in the media where the GOSSIP from a disgruntled McCain worker is granted headline status. It’s happened here on P&R. I made an olive branch post and it received only negative response. Examine the posts of far left partisans right here. Their attitude is clearly that we lost and should just STFU. Examine Reid’s treatment of Lieberman. Examine Obama’s actions thus far. His choice of Rahmbo as chief of staff, one of the most partisan Congressman alive. Compare Obama’s Campaign rhetoric and website with his brand new tone and website (change.gov, btw how does the Democrat party register a .gov domain?) He’s already going back on campaign rhetoric. Look at his lack of response at his first press conference. When directly asked if he still intended to raise taxes on the ‘rich’, given the present economic conditions (the day after a 10% drop in the DOW), he wouldn’t answer the question directly. What happened to his repeated promise of, “I will always be honest with you and tell you what I think”? Maybe that doesn’t start until Jan, 20th, LOL.

Ultimately how far will the Dems over-reach? How much opportunity for great and lasting reform will they lose because they demand to go it alone?

I’m pretty sure that the “European-ification” of America is about to begin.

Ummm... I'm a attempting to force myself through your post, but I can't get past the first paragraph. When did winning an election become analogous to 9/11? That is quite idiotic.

"Maybe that doesn’t start until Jan, 20th"
You finally said something accurate.
I'm sure you have heard about Obama saying "this country has one President at a time." He wasn't dodging any issues, it's simply not in his power to deal with them yet.
