Question to providers: How to make it up to a new provider when I screwed up?angry_smile

ad a really nice email communication going with a provider. Felt comfortable talking about my favorite music, sharing some thoughts on life, etc.

After several attempts to set up some time with her, and requesting a particular day, I finally get this really nice response that she's good to go and gave me two days to choose from.

Only problem is ... that response somehow got sent to the spam folder. Few days later I get another email asking again which of the two days I wanted. I was kind of confused, because I never got the first email. So I had already gone ahead and made other commitments, assuming she was busy.

Woops.

I then go back and look through my spam folder, and sure enough, there is the email that I missed. She wasn't very happy, and understandably so. She went out of her way to set those days aside. Now I'm a complete asshole.

What I would like to do is offer her the full donation amount for the appointment, no strings attached. So basically free money. :-)  I used to work for myself as an independent contractor for many years, and I know if it were me, I would be pretty thrilled with that. Problem is I'm not sure how to actually get the $$ to her, but I figure I could email her and at least make that offer.

So my question to the providers is ... what do you think is a fair response, or gesture to show that I am sorry for costing her inconvenience and opportunity, and that I want to make it up to her ? This is the first time something like this has ever happened to me, so I'm in uncharted territory

...Looks like you forgot #10:  Check your damn spam folder frequently!

Book another appt.  Tell her you'll pay for the missed appt. as well.  Tip her 50% for both the missed appt. and the new appt.  Bring her flowers and shave your body hair - IN THAT ORDER

That doesn't make any sense.

I'll get pubic hair all over the flowers.

Send it to her via Amazon.

Though I'm sure my straight forward answer isn't the answer you're looking for.

I don't understand the point, but whatever. I'm sure you have annoying people standing outside of your work and play areas too. Next time you're at a red light and someone walks to your car with their hands in the window asking for money - give it all to them. They deserve it.

and somewhere Jack Dunphy is rolling over in the shallow grave his antithesis buried him in.

I think Jack is dead, killed by someguy who is now spreading around all of Jack's ill gotten gains.

After seeing you those 2 days she likely would have set aside 2 days a week for the rest of the year JUST for you... so it sounds like you owe her for 30 appointments...plus a 50% tip on each  If each was 2 hours at $400 per hour...you should send her $36K tomorrow via PayPal, plus cover the PayPal charges too!  Seems only fair to me...

You want to pay her the full donation amount for not emailing her back? lmao. Her trying to attract a new client is not an inconvenience, it's an opportunity. I really can't fathom why you think she is owed anything. And while you're handing out free money, I'll take a fee for the inconvenience I suffered having to reply to this post lol. No disrespect but you really need to grow a pair.

100% is excessiive since she could have booked others when she didn't her from you.  If she didn't have an incall set up, she'd probably have not done so.
Still, if you want to get on her good side...  a cancelkation fee Plus the full new appointment is adequate.
