NOT the kind of change I'm looking for

Well, Barak Obama's first personnel decision was IMHO a real disaster - but not of the unexpected type.  With the appointment of Rahm Emanuel as Obama's Chief of Staff, it's as if the the Mossad and the Likud have planted one of their very own right outside of the Oval Office. Can you say "NeoCon Redux"?

Sigh.  Well, I'm disappointed but not in the least surprised, as Senator Obama was seemn sporting an Israeli Flag lapel pin while on the hustings.  No signal could be clearer.

As Charlie Brown might say "Good Grief!"  WTF next, I wonder?  Norman Podhoretz as US Ambassador to the UN?  Daniel Pipes as US Ambassador to Israel?  Alan Deshowitz as Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs?  Debbie Schussel as Presidential Press Secretary?

Here's some obvious lefty stuff decrying Emanuel's appointment.

Yeah, and one one dares call those acts terrorism?  How could we? It's in the Bible that God has chosen the Jewish people  to rule over that land, despite their having let the lease lapse for 2000 years, and all's fair in love and war and perverted theology.


XL1 wonders if Rahm's dad had any involvement in the attack on the USS Liberty, or the theft of US nuclear technology, or the numerous and totally illegal sales of US weapons and weapons technology by Israel to the PRC, or the Pollard spy ring.  

Yep, it's not 012009, but it looks like, at least in terms of a US foreign policy in the ME based on the primacy of US national interests, and Israel being asked to fend for itself just like every other country on this here earth, that  BHO won't be all that much different than GWB.   Not that I ever imagined it would be so.  Nothing short of a Patrick Buchanan or a Noam Chomsky administration is ever going to bring about that happy day, and both of those gents bring their own unmentionable baggage with them as well.
