END OF MESSAGE

I haven't given one so far, but I see many ladies require them now.

If I have to cancel how would she ever get it back to me, or am I just out of luck with that?

The deposit protects the provider from having an unused slot of time which otherwise she could have filled.  In the case of a traveling provider, it provides coverage for her hard costs of airfare, hotel, etc.

Whether your reason to cancel is legit or not is not a concern of hers.

Some gals do have stated refund polices that kick in if you cancel with enough time for her to find another client, but if they don't, then the deposit loss is all on you.

Like it or not, that's the way it works be it airlines, hotels, or providers

I guess that all the ladies are working 24/7/365 here?  No..no they're not.  Why make some ridiculous excuse for them (are you being a WK now) to simply steal a patron's money?

I don't know what kind of business you're in, but if you lost a deposit then shame on you!  If that person kept a deposit of yours, and you had to cancel with plenty of notice, maybe look in a mirror and ask yourself "why am I taken advantage of".

the deposit makes sure you commit to see her. If you cancel, it is understood you're losing your deposit

Based on my OP I certainly don't understand that.

I guess guys should just be forewarned that any deposit is simply money that they will never see again.  Maybe if more guys just flushed a few hundred down the toilet they would see the idiocy of ever giving a deposit in P4P.

At least in most cases. Now if she cancels that is a whole different ball of yarn and you would indeed be entitled to in back in that case. The whole point of a deposit hold a time for you and compensate the lady for not being able to sell that time should you cancel. The whole point is to protect her from you canceling.

Most don't.  I've never paid 1.  Never will.  No need.

While there have been some escorts I'd like to see who requests deposits, way to many out there who don't.

Totally agree.  I had a bad experience with a well reviewed provider who requires deposit.  I was stupid enough that ended pay the full service fee in advance at her request.  Later on I changed my mind, through our communication, I felt this lady was not honest full of lies.  I decided to cancel the appointment because I had no more motivation to see her.  I asked her to return part of my deposit and received no more response from her.  I lost $700, althouth it's not a big deal to me, but I learned the lesson. I was so stupid.  I will never see a woman who requires deposit.  Never!

At the risk of letting the cat out of the bag, I've seen some ladies who posted deposit requirements and then never asked for it or let it slide. Maybe it's a way to cut down on the volume of appointment requests to those who are committed to  meeting?

I only make appoint requests to women I have a sincere desire to meet up with, but the moment I see a deposit demand (request) they immediately go onto my "must miss" list and I see no reason to even contact them.

...but a "deposit requirement" won't dissuade me from booking if I really want to see her. So far I haven't been disappointed.

but it's your money, play with it as you wish.

I will say that if this were a legal business and women took a deposit via CC with all of the protections against fraud that came with using a CC, I "might' have a different viewpoint, but any hooker that I would trust enough to give a deposit would have enough trust in me not to need one.

I think this issue really comes down to clarity.  If a provider asks for a deposit on an advance booking, the onus is on her to fully express what the deposit is for and what should happen in the event of a cancellation. In many cases, the deposit not only allows you to hold your appointment but becomes a cancellation fee in the even that you should cancel with short notice.  As Mr. Fisher already explained, "The deposit protects the provider from having an unused slot of time which otherwise she could have filled".

Now, a GOOD provider will explain all of this before any money exchanges hands so that no one feels that they were taken advantage of.  But if it's not clear, then just ask whatever questions you have before you give her any money.   If her deposit/cancellation policy doesn't work for you, tell her as much and move along.

Haven't you ever put a credit card on file with a restaurant or spa when you made a reservation?  If you don't cancel your reservation in a timely manner, you're going to get charged.  It isn't nearly as shocking or unfair as you're making it out to be.

You have recourse with a credit card. And a lot more leeway on the cancellation times. 😃

If you book a room with a hotel and they ask you for a deposit, but then have no room for you when the date arrives, you have protection through your CC company. You simply call Am EX tell them what happened and usually you have your money back in minutes even if the hotel lies and tries to steal your money.

Since hookers rarely take CC deposits that is simply not the case if an unscrupulous hooker decides to keep a deposit and provide no services. THAT is the difference here.

At least not as far as I understood it.  We aren't talking about putting a deposit down and then having the provider cancel on you at the last minute.  We're talking about putting a deposit down and then YOU canceling on the PROVIDER at the last minute

You might be only looking at it from the provider POV, but the rest of us are also looking at it from the client POV, and from the client POV sending a deposit is a VERY dumb thing to do. Except when asking a woman to either block out a large amount of time or asking her to shell out hard money in advance of the appointment. Things like asking a woman to jump on a plane, make a special reservation at a hotel just for him, things like that would naturally require some money up front unless there was a lot of trust between the two.

Yes, more and more ladies are requiring deposits to book with them for a number of reasons. Timewasters, fantasy bookers, flakes, cost of traveling expense and possible hotel expense are just a few of the reasons behind them asking or requiring.

Personally, I decide on a case to case basis. For instance, new clients and clients under the age of 35 yold or fetish clients would be the ones I may require one from depending on what I may or may not find during my screening process. Now, I generally only require a small deposit anywhere from $50-$100 but I have friends that require a lot more but they also maybe traveling much further or have to secure an incall location, live in a location that is known for TW's, etc. I can say all the ladies I know that require deposits are upstanding and their word is more than good with me.

For the situation where I returned the deposit he was a newbie, he was also very young under 25 yold and no work history as I think he was in school and possibly a trust fund baby. He sent the deposit to book but the morning of our arranged session I wasn't feeling 100% (apparently nuts can upset ones stomach inparticular peanuts lol but true). I informed him of this and asked if we could reschedule. He was busy during that wkend and going out of the country for holiday the following week and asked if I could return the deposit and he'sd for sure book me in the future when his schedule allowed. No problem, easy peasy I returned it within minutes via the method I had him send it to me.

Every provider has a different method and as well a different program on how they do deposits so its best to be sure to read her website and/or ask her what her policy is for them

Never. And if they required one then move on. Too many great providers that don't require them. Nobody is that good.
Same with cancellation fees. Life happens. And even with the best intentions, especially around this stuff you have to cancel.
And they want you to send them the $$$ or else. Not happening.

through with a deposit. We move on to the next potential client. No one likes their time wasted let alone if they've had to reserve a room or travel and this helps prevent that thus why you see more and more requiring them and will see more as the months and years roll by. As well, if they've done their research they may not easily find exactly what their looking for with "just any other provider". Personally, I offer an array of sessions and options many other providers do not offer and if a client is just looking for a basic session or a quick release I definitely wouldn't be the provider for them and I'm sure others feel the same. If that is what a client seeks yes there are plenty that will let you go on over and visit with them with no more than a first name and phone number.

edit was bc I'm a Typo Queen lol

to come to your city, then the deposit is the only protection they have against a financial disaster.

I often pay in advance to ensure that the gal will come.  And yes, I've been burned a few times, but on the whole I think it is worth it to see someone whom I know I will really enjoy.

To each their own, however.

a deposit and dont refund it are the same ones who would not compensate you for YOUR costs if SHE cancelled.

she has rules , yo decide if it's worth seeing her. best thing, IMO, is to stay away.

Depends on what polices they adhere to.
Stick to reputable providers.
Good luck.

I would think the deposit is for holding the spot open (no pun intended) for you.  If you don't show, then you lose the deposit.  Not a hard concept to grasp.
