far as I'm concerned, not only is this award well deserved, but, when healthy, Woodson is one of the best defensive players ever! Indeed, the best catch I've ever seen in football was Woodson's one-handed interception against Michigan State in 1997. That catch was simply amazing!
In addition to his on field work he is pursuing an advanced degree in medicine I think. He also donated $ 2.0 million to Michigan for a pediatrics hospital, new wing, expansion or something like that.
Definitely an athlete who has his head on straight. Guys like Evander Holyfield, Latrel Sprewell and Tiger Woods among others should look up to him as a role model.
Not holding my breath though...lol
I believe he donated the $2 million to the Mott Children's Hospital at the the University of Michigan's Medical Complex. Quite a few people connected to the Michigan football program have actively supported the children's hospital there, notably Lloyd Carr in addition to Woodson. Woodson is a credit to Michigan, and people connected to the University are very proud of him.
and I think Coach Ryan would agree with me!
