So I can say "you know I walked down the 42nd in NYC when it was filled with freaks" or something :) now I gotta go to Europe to see something like that, I think. I am not a true "hustler" in the sense of being able to walk down the street, solicit etc And furthermore, I'd hate potentially being refused lol I am always amazed by the girls in Vegas that solicit at bars ! And yea, Internet made it reliable and more straight forward.

Folks: When you log onto TER and it is very slow loading, do you start to think the unthinkable? How would I manage in this glorious hobby without it?  I have been in P4P long enough to remember trying to hobby without the internet, and it was not pretty. Trying to pick up streetwalkers who were not cops or thieves; scanning the back pages of tabloids (that is where that website got its name) in sin cities like Las Vegas, NYC, Los Angeles and Miami and never knowing who (or what) was going to show up at your hotel room; paying the extra fee to go into the "VIP" room in strip clubs and hoping to get a BBBJ or even a brief fuck in 30 minutes with your clothes on;  heading back home smelling like you have been in a whorehouse but trying to disguise the smell with a little gasoline on your hands.  

Alas, I have seen and done it all for that all too brief few seconds of orgasmic release. The internet and TER are gifts from the erotic gods.  

How would we manage without them? Don't know about you, but I don't have a Plan B and don't want to go back to the "bad old days."

I go back to the actual whore houses that were still around in the 50's and 60's, they were great, safe, inexpensive and always available.  After that, the streetwalkers were my choice (before aids, etc).  Then the yellow page ads, that were not very reliable and very expensive.  Yes, the cell phone and the internet have made this hobby very easy to navigate.  However, there is a concentrated effort to shut it down

TER isn't the only option now, and it won't be the only option when/if it gets shut down. Currently, there isn't a national/international website with the scope of TER, but in the event of TER's demise, some entrepreneur will probably create one.

There are regional websites that are as good if not better than TER.

but TER is the proud owner of the largest review database in the world. I doubt anyone else even comes close, but I will say in certain regions of the country TER is NOT the go-to site. Unfortunately that includes the region I now live in. TER is still useful in my current home town, and I love to run my mouth here, but it is still not the go-to site for reviews in my region.

TER was not the "go-to" site in my area either. The moderation is very strict and often frustrating around here. There is a lag time between posting and seeing it on the boards. The advantage to TER is that it has national coverage and has reviews of all the visiting ladies. You may be able to run your mouth here but threads get hijacked and are often deleted.  

Other sites reviews are often part of a gamed system with crooked moderators and reviews are bought sold and traded like commodity items. There is a certain amount of gaming going on at TER but I don't think it's to the extent of regional boards.

Im sure it had its thrill. The internet made it safer for sure, and sites like TER even more reliable. But depending on where in the States you are, TER might not the be site of choice. Only a few platforms cross time zones when it comes to popularity. But I hear you.

How awful it would be to return to those days. I'd have 3 choices

1. Come to realize that I'll have to jack off to porn, only, for the rest of my life.

2. Drive the streets looking for streetwalkers, and/or scan the back pages of tabloids and yellow page ads.

3. Settle for one of the OTHFB club that I could attract, and have to deal with the bullshit just to get laid

Well, two choices really, I've done number 3 and I ain't going back.

Perhaps I could just retire early, move to Costa Rica and live a life of debauchery. The only problem with that theory is that I'm a work o Holic just as much as a pussy o holic, so not sure that would work

"Nothing lasts forever!"?  yeah and that includes TER. It maybe a year from now, or 5 or 10 or next week... who knows?

That's why in life you always want to diversify and have plan B, plan C, plan D... ready. Just like I'm not fixate and depend on one or two women for my happiness I certainly do not depend on this one site either
