I love downtown San Diego but if you are going to have to be at a convention in Carlsbad (probably the Sheraton) why would you want to drive each day that distance? I'd rather sleep another 30 minutes than sit in my car driving. If you like to hobby I am sure you can find PLENTY of beautiful women that would come visit you or you can use your driving time to go see them. Bored depends on what you are looking to do. There are plenty of great restaurants, breweries (that is something you would want to visit because the best ones are all along the 78 freeway!) and sports bars in the area.
I have a convention at a resort in Carlsbad and was wondering if I am going to be bored out of my mind staying there. Am I better off staying downtown SD where I normally stay and make the commute daily? And of course I am going to hobby while in town so I am not sure how many gals would come to Carlsbad. Any input would be appreciated.

A number of fine ladies you can see in that area, or who will outcall to you there. Off top of my head I can think of Lisa Lang, Goldie Knox, Goddess Jezebel, Mia619filipina, and 69Goldfinger. Also, Natasha Costa is only about 15 minute drive to her UTC incall, or she can come to you I believe.
Lots to do in that area as well as tons of talent nearby.

Coastal North County is great! Encinitas/Leucadia has tons of hip bars and restaurants! Del Mar is close too and fun😀
