I guess I have a soft spot in my heart for disabled children. I used to work with the special education system when I first got out of the military. I told the counselor at the school to check into the music talent of one blind boy there. A year later, someone had purchased him a piano and he was taking lessons. It was in the newspaper. I was so proud of him. Plus, I donate my time every year (except, unfortunately, not the past three years because of illness) to the Special Olympics. This story really touched my heart. Thank you for the link. You've got a good heart, Sedona, I can tell.

Hugs,
Ciara

I was watching 60 Minutes this evening about a family adopting disabled children that brought tears to my eyes. Did anyone else see it?

This woman, who is now in her early 40's, saw the movie "Oliver" when she was thirteen years old and was so touched by the movie that she told her mother that she wanted to take in orphans when she grew up. She started at the age of 18 with her first foster child. She met a quadraplegic man over the Internet and married him. He was aware of her existing eight or nine children but married her anyway and took on the role of father to the kids. He and his wife currently have 25 children and are still accepting kids but not children with sexual problems or who like to start fires (with good reason due to the safety of their other children). They all seem very well adjusted, in sports, acting, etc. The most important thing is that they feel loved.
God bless these people! They are saints!

Hugs,
Ciara

One of the guys here was telling me about the movie, "My Flesh and Blood". Sounds very similar, altho she's single.

You can read about it on www.stomfamily.com .

Its amazing how a movie can have such a profound, life long impact on a human being.  We truly don't know or understand how much we can affect and change the world we live in.  Just one story like this can give you hope again and help you regain faith in society.  She is an angel amongst humans!!
