It probably makes it a lot easier for an independent. But the hobby itself would be just as big. It would just be in diffrent venues. Look back at our own history, it was always there, often a lot more openly than now.It just wasn't mentioned in polite society or most history books.

Do you think this hobby and/or profession could exist to the EXTENT and EASE that it does without the cell phone and internet. I know it's been around for ages, but haven't these two recent technical innovations made it grow tremendously.

Theese 2 inovations have made it possible for both providers and hobbiest alike to expand the knowledge of what's out there increasing the satisfaction chances. But neither has dome as much as this forum. I'm so glad I finally joined here. Not 1 bad experience sence becoming a member of TER.  A big  THANK YOU to staff and moderators.

The Cell Phone & the Internet has made finding & accessing
participants of this hobby a push button affair. However; It is TER that has brought standards, accountabillity, legitimacy and unity to the Hobby.

Funny you should mention this...the John Walsh Show just discussed this very topic.  Yes, the internet has made this business grow tremendously and has attracted girls from ALL walks of life as a result.  Most women claim that the internet is safer than the streets, but the experts said that's not necessarily true; a preditor will always find a way to claim his victim.

So ladies, continue to screen and get to know your client a little before you meet them.  If they don't want to provide you with ANY personal information...let them go because your life is more important than anything monetary.

industry in so many ways.

When I started out in this industry just over 10 years ago, I couldn't afford a mobile phone because they were very expensive. About £400 ($800)..

So I had to use a landline telephone number and worked for an agency.  It wasn't long before my sister found out what I did for a living becuase she answered a call from the agency. (Nightmare situation)  Nowadays, we can hide our mobile phones, and prevent the risk of someone unauthorised picking up the phone and giving you tonnes of grief.

Advertising in newspapers was good, but there were always huge restrictions on what we could say and what words we could use.  It was also incredibly expsenisve.  You ended up having to repeat yourself in parot fashion, and give descriptions, thus increasing the amount of perverts ringing up just to hear you describe your services.

Since the age of the internet and websites, well.. its fantastic. Its easy and its discreet and its not as expensive to promote yourself. Its also very easy to travel around the world meeting men and having lots of sex and getting paid at the same time!     I wouldn't have met half the people I have, had it not been for the internet.  That includes people i've met in my personal as well as business life.

Thank you!

I got one of the first flip phones sold after the bag phones became available.
My home area was 1/3 of a small state and long distance was $17.00 a minute. Had to put the charges on your charge card.
I have used wireless to a great extent.
But, I think caller ID is just as important  as some of the other improvements in tech stuff.
However, I don't see an immediate need for a picture cell phone.
Probably won't get one until next week...LOL...

The net and the cell make the game far more doable - and safer. However, watch out for the picture phones. You can't be sure who is transmitting what and when. In fact, some places are trying to ban the pic phones, especially where kids are viewable. The next time you are trying on shoes, make sure that that is a shoehorn in the salesperson's hand!
