Word has it that SDPD sting operations may be ramping up for the holiday season. You might have better lock if you try some of the business oriented hotels in the Mira Mesa/Sorrento Mesa are, which are a lot more low key...

To most people, who don't follow local police activity, saying they're ramping up stings is quite the bombshell. In fact, any mention of a sting is a bombshell!
I've been hobbying for years now and have never heard of a girl on this board getting stung. Maybe I missed it? But to act like sting operations are commonplace, or are being ramped up, is ridiculous, no matter what time of the year, unless you can provide evidence.
How many ladies have been stung on this board? Not many. And the ones who did probably made rookie mistakes.
You have to understand that being arrested as a John is the worst nightmare of many guys on this board.
All of this being said, this is a good reminder to always be cautious when hobbying.

I used to be a news reporter in this town and covered the police beat - this has been pretty much going on for the last 30 years. Where have you been?

The IQ-90 gorilla pimps running these girls aren't known to be especially creative or original, and the MV/Hotel Circle places have been there "go-to" locations for years due to SDPD's agrressive patrolling of ECB in the Mid-City and Eastern Divisions which had made the hotels on the boulevard "no-go" zones for a couple of decades now. Given that so when word's out that one of these crews is in town, they start watching all those places off of I-8 between Texas St and Old Town. They aren't necessarily looking for TER ladies, but if one happens to choose a hotel that's being used for the "Christmas Club", they will come under the radar. That's all I'm saying...

Good for them, if they are flying below the radar, happy to hear it. Believe me, I do understand. Read some of my previous posts. You'll see I now rarely hobby in the US for this very reason.

Terribly sorry, but apparently you miss the point. I'm not saying that TER hobbyists pursue the low-end BP girls. What I am saying is that if LE identifies that those lodging establishments are being used by those particular individuals, there will be additional scrutiny given to those establishments - watching excessive foot traffic to a given room, checking registration lists, monitoring cars coming and going for short periods of time, that type of deal. That's all I'm saying, hope you understand...
Bombshell indeed! I've had a number of fine dates in the HC area. Only place I know that had problems was Travelodge, which now is reportedly monitored closely by the management after a run-in with LE. No problem for me at other places there. And of course, to answer the lady's question, Mission Valley, Mission Bay, La Jolla are excellent places to utilize. Many locations there to choose from. Also downtown to be close to plenty of nightlife.

I would say that no matter where you stay, people will come see you. So you may as well pick a place where you want to be to enjoy yourself. Like others have said in this thread, downtown is great because of the Gaslamp area...great restaurants, bars, clubs, just a great place to be around during the day and night without having to drive anywhere. It's just a matter of what you prefer. Mission Valley is okay but you are not going to stick around there at night because that is all it is...hotels.
