TER General Board

Here's an interesting article about AI's bid to decriminalize sex work:

This came out a few days ago, and here's the NY Times on the issue.  Seems like the Amnesty Int'l. folks have pulled their heads out of their asses but others have not.  Still, it's a discussion worth having

And unblurred face shots become the order of the day....

Will the TER scores go down by an average of 2,3 or 4 points (for appearance)?

but it will open a door for the trafficked and mistreated sex workers who now have to face legal predicaments if they want to report mistreatment to the authorities.

Since much of the civilized world allows sex work to be legal, it really shouldn't be all the controversial.  I think the main impediment is the moralistic attitude of the US

Have you considered a tryout with "Dancing with the Stars"?

Bravo for AI for its effort. Those shitheads maggots against it can stick it up theirs. Just like the legalization of weed it's only a matter of time. Eventually it WILL happen only question is how long it's going to take.

For far too long the shitheads maggots have been using the excuse of women as victims to criminalize men and women involved in the trade. The fact is that a very, very small percentage of women are ever "victims". They also trot out the "men buying women" as a PC argument. But guess what, no man can buy sex if there's no woman WILLING to sell it!

AI has got it right about this is a HUMAN RIGHT issue. There's no valid reason why a man and a woman cannot engage VOLUNTARILY in a transaction that benefits BOTH.

Isn't it a woman's basic right to be able to earn a living?

is on the face of it so preposterous that it is hard to maintain a long and serious discussion about it except that self appointed moralists believe they need to enforce their rules of morality by making them law.
My only fear i that if it is decriminalized some moron will decide to regulate it. ('No tying up" "No role play involving religious figures" "You can be nude but only if your crotch is clean shaved or not shaved at all of you pubic hair is tied up in small ribbons")

Making it legal would drag in that gang of thugs that most of us have to deal with in having so called "real jobs"

The IRS.

I am all for preventing human trafficking and saving women from abuse but I am a fair person also and I don't want to see half of the rate I pay to go to some useless socialist program that some idiot liberal thinks is a good idea to help some lazy useless fuck have a high standard if living without having to earn it.

but the hookers you fuck do not.

Even if that was true, don't you realize that without a legitimate source of income it's almost impossible for a person to buy a house, make an investment, or otherwise accumulate any wealth?

We ALL have to pay taxes, why do you think hookers are, or even should be exempt?

I'm sure some don't.  But lots certainly do.

i most certainly pay taxes...i am listed as a relaxation therapist under holistic medicine...irs doesn't care how i run my business, but only i pay taxes on it

Why so descriptive?

Keep it simple.

the IRS tried to run the Mustang Ranch after foreclosing on Conforte... that played hilariously in the newspapers for awhile... most of the girls quit rather than work for the IRS..

guess that makes the IRS  a poor excuse for a pimp :)

On a philosophical note, I believe no one should pay taxes.  I just don't get butthurt because someone else doesn't and I do.  Good for them.

I enjoy having a municipality that employs codes to keep me safer and a fire department but that's about it.  The rampant liberalism that let's lazy bastard's enjoy the same living standards that I work hard for pisses me off.

This petition is for the decriminalization (sp?) of sex work.

Oh.... and I already pay taxes on all my earnings.  :-)
