A blog to some becomes a very alluring soapbox.  Its draw is powerful.
Try not to take the gild off the lily.

I haven't seen many that I would say put the provider in a positive light.  Folks seem to think just because they can say something, it means they should say something.  This isn't necessarily the case.

Some common pitfalls...
Poor grammar
Incorrect spelling
Crazy rants
Indiscretion
Low class behavior (and pics)
Discussions of sessions with other clients

For example: I actually read a girl's blog where she listed her bad encounters and she mentioned in one session that she had uncontrollable gas.  No, I'm not making this up.  I don't think that was such a great marketing move.    Laughing about how much gas you produce during a rendezvous is likely to backfire.  Get it?  Backfire?  :-)

That said, if you are into writing fiction/erotica/satire that could be interesting.  I have seen a couple of sites where that was done well.  It would be a nice way of sharing a part of yourself without being completely transparent.

Remember in this business (as in life) you don't get a second chance to make a first impression.  If you use your blog to rant, tell raunchy stories about yourself or clients, or just show general crazy behavior it will backfire.

Backfire - hehe.

Hello everyone!
I'm just about to add a blog to my website, but I thought it would be both interesting and helpful to pick your brains as to the benefits and setbacks of provider blogs. I truly believe in forging connections with other people, or at the very least letting them get to know me better. Plus, I am an avid writer, so it's always good to have something new to write about. I don't imagine I will make it very explicit in nature, though. All opinions are equally valued here (and always)!

Thanks in advance,

Marley B

The more I know about a person who's right for me, the more likely I am to see them

...and shopping for ginseng, goji berries and pineapple juice?  ;-)

They're in the process of erecting a warehouse adjacent to my home at this moment.

They figure to reduce their shipping costs about 1% as a result

i must admit that I only occasionally read them, but when I am in the mood they make for good reading and tell me a lot about the lady.

I don't read too many blogs because most see to be nothing more than "mental masturbation" for providers who just got back from a month-long private engagement in Dubai at the request of a member of the royal family ... blah, blah, blah,

but I'd read a funny blog in a heartbeat!

I check out providers sites mainly for stats, pics, and general info. I rarely read any blog pages, tho I can see how some might enjoy them.

Date with you. Some men like longer dates, and the fact that you can hold a conversation is very important. They are risking very awkward silence if they don't know whether or noy you have actual thoughts.

Showing a willingness to share interests and thoughts can give them a clue that you want to chat with them. You can have intelligence, but if you aren't willing, ah the awkward silence - no way to fill the time between pops. ;)

...advantage as well.  The ones who love to negotiate can point to the blogs and say the providers are obviously not intelligent so they should accept less.  Isn't that how the negotiators do it?

So the general consensus here is positive, which is exactly what I was hoping for! Thank you all for your feedback it is very much appreciated. Off to write my first post :)

I rarely read provider blogs and when I do, I have to admit that I use blogs more as a way to take women OFF of my to do list than I do to put them on it. IOW I am much more likely to read something that makes me think to myself "I have to meet that woman" than I am to read something that makes me think "we won't be a good fit"

It's often been said that men are visual creatures, once you have me hooked by your looks, I don't see why you (the generic you of course) would try to talk me out of it by boring me with a blog. It's not that easy to come up with interesting topics to keep a blog worth reading, just look at the GD board for an example, we have thousands of members and still the same old tired subjects. For a single writer to keep a blog fresh and interesting is a monumental task that 99% of blog writers fail at.

I totally agree. It's a tricky striking balance between writing about what one thinks readers want to know and what I want to say. Hopefully I can get it right! I just think it would be lovely to let gentlemen know what makes me tick in more words than an ad reasonably allows.

It showed depth of thought, which I always appreciate since I like dates longer than an hour.

I'm not so much looking for things like what she had for dinner, what her dog did, etc.

Rather, since many women present themselves as college educated, able to converse on varied topics, and can be comfortable in any social setting, I look for more 'meaty' blog posts.

Only engaging a Lady on the physical level has little appeal to me. I want to engage her mind as well. To learn about things that interest her, and would make for good jumping off points in conversation when we meet.

:-)

I write about sexy activities I love and my all time fav subject, sports.
I couldn't imagine writing about anything negative
Because Wordpress has instituted strict guidelines for adult content, I had to remove my more intimate photos
I love my blog and it gives guys a chance to get to know me a bit
My blog link is in my profile

A blog that would reveal yor feeling, decisions, experiences and allow us to have a greater understand of the complex and (to me) fascinating thoughts and experiences of a provider would be a valuable and fascinating read.
