The Ticuan hotel does NOT require a credit card

The question of must one have a credit card to stay at the Ticuan Hotel was raised in a previous thread.  A couple weeks ago I went to the Ticuan to meet a friend.

While there I inquired about the need to have a credit card to stay at the Ticuan.  As I thought: the reception desk told me a walk-in guest can register and pay at the Ticuan without using a credit card.  (He can also use cash deposits for any services he uses while staying at the Ticuan.)

I am a senior citizen.  I have been going to Tijuana since 1984 and well remember the days when clerks would write down credit card data and then sell it to people who used it to make fraudulent purchases.  Consequently, to this day I avoid using credit cards in Mexico.

As I posted, I have lived in Tijuana for over ten years.  In all my travels throughout Mexico (and I've traveled throughout Mexico more than most)  I have never found something I couldn't do with cash.  Because, as I posted, the majority of  Mexicans have neither a credit card nor a checking account.
